Why Kurt Russell Died in The Madison’s Series Premiere

The show The Madison made the quick decision to eliminate Russell’s character for a specific reason. Preston Clyburn’s death allowed the story to really start, as it dramatically changed the lives of his wife and daughters – Abigail Reese (Beau Garrett) and Paige McIntosh (Elle Chapman) – and their daughters, Bridgette (Amiah Miller) and Macy Reese (Alaina Pollack).

After Preston’s death, Stacy uncovers the rich life he had created for their family in Montana. She decides to remain in the state, determined to explore all the places he cherished. Stacy also intends to be buried alongside Preston and her brother-in-law in a special location Preston called “Stacy’s Valley,” effectively establishing their final resting place.

Stacy will always remember Preston Clyburn, and he’ll likely be laid to rest at the family ranch in the second part of The Madison Season 1. We’ll also see Russell in flashbacks, which have been revealing details about Stacy’s past and the sadness she’s dealing with as she adjusts to life in Montana.

Episodes 4–6 of The Madison will be available on March 21st and are expected to focus on the stories of Stacy’s family, including her daughters and granddaughters. After her mother cut off her financial support, Abigail will be living with Stacy in Montana, and it’s unclear if Paige will also decide to make a home in the Madison River Valley.
