Tom Brady Reveals Whether He’ll Play in 2028 Summer Olympics

Tom Brady doesn’t plan on making any plays anytime soon.

Okay, so I nearly lost it when I heard flag football was going to be in the Olympics! But then, my absolute idol – the seven-time Super Bowl champ – basically said a comeback for the Games is…unlikely. I mean, he retired in 2023, and while a part of me will always dream of seeing him back on the field, he seems pretty set on enjoying retirement. Still, a girl can hope, right?

He didn’t rule it out completely, but said it was probably not going to happen, during an interview on Good Morning America on March 17th. He added that he thinks it’s beneficial for younger people to pursue those opportunities.

Though he’s no longer playing and letting today’s NFL players handle the tough hits, the 48-year-old is open to contributing to the all-star team in a different capacity.

He said he’d rather be a mentor or coach, but he’s happy to let younger players like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen compete and try to win for the United States.

The former football player is really excited about flag football being added to the Olympics, and he’s sharing his enthusiasm as a sports commentator.

He admitted he was getting excited about the game, but emphasized his dedication to his job at FOX and his enjoyment of broadcasting.

Tom Brady, father to Jack (18, with Bridget Moynahan), Benjamin (16), and Vivian (13, with Gisele Bündchen), has been keeping busy since retiring from football. He recently shared that he’s been all work and no fun, especially with recent rumors linking him romantically to Alix Earle.

As someone who really focuses on balancing life’s demands, I completely understand prioritizing work and family. Recently, Tom shared with People magazine that he’s incredibly dedicated to his career and his children, even if it means sacrificing personal time. It’s a common trade-off for many of us, and it’s inspiring to see someone embrace it so openly.

He explained that he thrives when he’s actively engaged and finds satisfaction in his work. Currently, he’s excited about several interesting projects and collaborating with talented, positive teams.
