Scorsese and DiCaprio Begin Production on New Collaboration

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are officially back at it (again).

The director and actor, frequent collaborators, have begun filming their new movie, What Happens at Night. This is their seventh project together, following films like Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and last year’s Killers of the Flower Moon. (Since 2000, the director has only made three films without this actor: Hugo, Silence, and The Irishman.)

Leonardo DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet will star alongside Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence (pictured with DiCaprio), as well as Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, Jared Harris, and Welker White.

This touching film tells the story of an American couple who journey to a quaint, snow-covered town in Europe to adopt a child. It’s based on the popular novel of the same title by Peter Cameron.

Reviews describe Cameron’s book as hauntingly beautiful and a fresh take on the classic Victorian ghost story, so the film will likely be similar in style.

Apple also released the recent DiCaprio-Scorsese film, Killers of the Flower Moon, which earned over $150 million globally and received ten Oscar nominations. Despite the nominations, it didn’t win any awards that night, as Oppenheimer was the big winner, taking home seven Oscars including Best Picture.

I’m eagerly awaiting news about when Apple will finally release this – they haven’t given us a date yet, so I’m keeping a close watch for any announcements!
