Shochiku and Bone Nail announced that their hotel management and romance visual novel game, Yog-Sothoth’s Yard, will be released on the Nintendo Switch on July 23rd.
I picked up Yog-Sothoth’s Yard on Steam back in October 2023, and it’s a really cool game! It’s available in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, which is awesome. The developers are adding Japanese language support when they release it on the Switch, which I’m super excited about!
Shochiku will release the game in Japan as both a physical copy and a digital download. The standard physical edition will cost 2,970 yen, and a limited edition will be available for 4,400 yen. The limited edition comes with a special box, a retro room keychain, four character frames, and a unique illustrated reversible cover. The standard edition will also include the reversible cover.

Welcome to the yard!
You’ve inherited an old villa with a dark secret: a lot of debt! You’ll run a hotel, hiring a quirky staff that includes Death, a dragon, a ghost hunter, and a robot maid. Strange guests will arrive, each bringing their own unique problems. To pay off your debts, you can mine for resources, go on adventures, practice alchemy, or run a restaurant – and you can use advice from Oracles to help you decide what to do next.

Your choices will determine the future of the world and influence how your team feels about you. With up to 23 possible endings, the game offers a lot of different outcomes.

Keep a close watch on everyone who enters the courtyard and listen carefully to what they say – their words hold the key to incredible abilities. Just be mindful of your sanity; discovering too much too quickly can be dangerous.

Beyond the hotel lies an expansive forest.
With proper development, it can provide a variety of ingredients for your inn’s restaurant.
Food and Alchemy
Place some indescribable animals and plants in specific containers.
Chop finely.
Add some magical spices from foreign lands.
Incorporate some special minerals.
It is essential to keep the right temperature from the flames.

This game offers multiple strategies.
Managing food, for instance, helps you swiftly utilize materials and amass wealth.
Assist the guests in the yard, and in return you’ll receive diverse recipes from around the world.
Everything is made easy with automatic listings and a wonderful chef who cooks for you. But to keep the kitchen stocked, you’ll need to become a cat and thoroughly search the mountains and forests for plenty of ingredients.
Alchemy
If you maintain a friendly relationship with Yevna, the Red Dragon, she’ll consistently provide you with the alchemical ingredients you need in the workshop.
By enhancing your alchemy skills, you can boost the workshop’s production.
Pprioritising collecting alchemical formulas will enabling you to craft exceptional items,
such as the legendary Philosopher’s Stone.
Recruit Employees
- Little Leaf: Bioroid Maid – One day, you discovered she was once human (???).
- Tlipoca: Trainee Death/ Front Desk Reception – After confessing, “I need to repay 9999 ounces of high-purity souls to the Death Tower,” she brandished her scythe. Will you choose to slaughter your guests to repay her debt?
- Yevna: Red Dragon / Alchemist / Director of Operations – Don’t tell her that by the fifth month of your training, your alchemy skills surpassed hers; the proud red dragon will become angry.
- Haa Lou Ling: Spirit Hunter / Chef – Although her swordsmanship is impressive, she prefers being a chef. Regardless, her knife skills are excellent.
The game features a diverse cast of characters, each with unique backgrounds, looks, and personalities. You’ll be able to uncover a personal story for every character you meet.
