Following the conclusion of the Egghead Island arc – the beginning of the final story arc in One Piece – the anime took a three-month break starting in December 2025. The Straw Hat Pirates recently defeated Kaido and Big Mom, said goodbye to their friends in Wano, and arrived at Egghead Island, where they encountered Dr. Vegapunk. This arc brought the series closer to revealing the mysteries of the Void Century. One Piece has been airing weekly since its debut in 1999, but will switch to a seasonal format with 26 episodes per year starting with the Elbaph Arc. The anime is scheduled to return on April 5th, 2026, and a preview of the opening theme is already generating excitement for the new arc.
A new 15-second trailer posted on X gives fans a first listen to the opening theme song for the anime, which will be fully revealed on March 28, 2026. More information about the theme’s artist and other details will be announced soon. The anime will be available on Crunchyroll shortly after it airs in Japan, and, similar to the Egghead Arc, Netflix will stream episodes one week after they first appear.
What to Expect From One Piece‘s Elbaph Arc?

The Elbaph arc is a long-awaited event for fans of the manga, marking nearly three decades since the story began. Ever since the Little Garden arc, where Luffy and Usopp met the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy, viewers have been eager to see the Straw Hat Pirates visit the legendary land of the Giants. Following the intense battle at Egghead, the Straw Hats immediately set sail for Elbaph, accompanied by the Giant Pirates.
Luffy and some of his crewmates are briefly separated before reaching the island and find themselves in a strange, miniature world. This story arc began in September 2024 and has already explained parts of the island’s history. It also introduced a very powerful new character and shed light on the events of God Valley. The next part of the story will introduce both new friends and foes.
Because the story of Elbaph connects to the ancient Sun God Nika, fans anticipate learning more about the world’s history. The Elbaph Arc is currently unfolding in the manga and is already a very long story arc, with over 50 chapters released. The central conflict is just beginning, meaning this exciting part of the story has a long way to go.
