Brooks Nader Defends Her Casting in Baywatch Amid Backlash

Brooks Nader isn’t worried about this tidal wave of backlash.

Once the model was cast in the upcoming Baywatch reboot on FOX, she spoke about worries people had regarding her wearing the famous red swimsuit for her first significant acting part.

Brooks recently told The Daily Mail that times have changed, and it’s now common for people to have multiple careers—like being both an actor and a social media influencer. He believes this is a positive result of social media’s impact on our culture.

She explained that now we have social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, which weren’t around in the 90s. This allows people to express themselves and share their opinions, and as long as they use these platforms positively, it will add a great energy to the show.

She’s not the only social media star joining the project. Noah Beck will be a main cast member, and Livvy Dunne will appear in a recurring role as a lifeguard. Brooks is confident the show will do the story and its characters justice.

She believes the show benefits from having a diverse and talented cast, adding that ‘Baywatch’ is a beloved classic and she’s confident audiences will enjoy this new version. She’s really excited about the incredible talent involved and expects viewers to love it.

The 27-year-old actress, who will appear with Stephen Amell (playing Hobie Buchannon) and Shay Mitchell (as Trina) in the new series, shared that she had actually predicted and hoped for this role years before it happened.

She recently told TV Insider that when she was shooting her Sports Illustrated cover, she chose a red swimsuit because it reminded her of Baywatch. She thought, ‘I have to wear this for the shoot!’ It ended up being the cover photo, which she called amazing. She sees it as a dream come true, especially since she envisioned it in 2023 and it finally happened in 2026.

She quipped, “My superpowers are scaring me!”
