The team behind Gungrave G.O.R.E, Studio IGGYMOB, has revealed their next project, MOOSA: Dirty Fate. This dark action game is set in 17th century Korea and is scheduled to release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be available to play with a Game Pass subscription.
Here is an overview of the game, via Studio IGGYMOB:
About
“Moosa” is a Korean term for a skilled martial artist who has dedicated themselves to the way of the warrior.
In MOOSA: Dirty Fate, characters with contrasting goals and beliefs clash, and their decisions have violent consequences that ultimately shape their destinies.
17th Century Joseon, A Land Turned Hell
I’m so excited about this new game! It’s an action title set way back in 17th century Korea, which is a really cool setting. What’s fascinating is that time period, the 1600s, was tough all over the world. They were dealing with something called the Little Ice Age – basically, really harsh weather, widespread famine, and terrible diseases. It’s going to be interesting to see how that impacts the game’s story and world.
Korea was no exception. Historical records include the chilling line:
“With nothing left to eat, man ate man.”
Starvation and despair. Corrupt power and a collapsed order. An age that truly resembled hell.
In a world thrown into turmoil, you play as “Gunn,” a warrior driven by a thirst for revenge after losing everything. You’ll fight demons hiding among humans and their followers, all while seeking the truth about the legendary IMUGI.
Now, only one thing remains to you, Reclaim your life. The only one you can trust is yourself.
Experience 17th Century Joseon Dynasty
Stunning landscapes of mountains and rivers stand alongside once-great cities now marked by poverty and decay – from bustling centers of power to neighborhoods broken by hunger and hidden in darkness.
Each area of the game feels unique, with its own mood, battles, and storyline. The world isn’t just scenery; it’s filled with the history and struggles of the people who lived through those times. Your journey will become a tale told for generations.
“IMUGI.” Monster? God? or Tragedy?
“Is the Imugi a monster, a god… or another tragedy born of humanity?”
Even demons have their stories, revealed through the accounts of those who survived them, fragmented reports from battles, and the last words of those who perished. Slowly, the full picture begins to come into focus.
Sword and Bow, Your Heart
In the heat of battle, the sword and bow are more than weapons. They are your very heart.
Battle massive armies, fight epic boss battles against creatures from Korean legends, and challenge skilled swordsmen in fast-paced, stylish duels.
MOOSA delivers a diverse and tightly crafted combat experience.
Victory in battle is survival itself the proof of your will.
MOOSA features a unique combat system centered around the bow, setting it apart from other action games. Drawing on the historical expertise of Korean archers, the bow in MOOSA isn’t just a weapon – it’s a key to winning battles when used strategically.
Combat is brutal. Choices are merciless. Only those who survive may write the next chapter.
