Miranda Hope Breaks Silence on Jessi Draper, Chase McWhorter’s Kiss

Miranda Hope isn’t keeping anything secret about her life.

According to a star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, her former husband, Chase McWhorter, kissed her colleague, Jessi Draper, while Jessi was going through a divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura.

Miranda shared with Entertainment Tonight that she wasn’t surprised to hear about the situation. She knew Chase and Jessi had been in contact, but she didn’t realize how involved it had been.

The 27-year-old also detailed how each of them has handled the situation since it happened.

My ex, Chase, admitted they were talking and had kissed. Jessi only contacted me after Chase had already told me about it. And interestingly, I received an apology bouquet from Jessi today, right as rumors started circulating online about them being involved. We share two children, Brooks and Cohen.

Miranda explained what her relationship with Chase is like now, mentioning that he had briefly dated a fellow cast member, Layla Taylor.

I want to be clear that I don’t have any romantic feelings for Chase. He’s the father of my child, and while I’m hurt by his actions, I’m also disappointed in my friend. Chase and I are no longer together, but I expect a lot from both him as a co-parent and from my friends – I believe in loyalty and sticking up for each other.

The reality TV personality shared that she’s focusing on her family while she deals with the drama between Jessi and Chase, which happened while filming for Mormon Wives is temporarily paused.

Given everything happening right now, I’m really concentrating on my children,” Miranda explained. “Even though the movie falling apart and this difficult situation are upsetting, I’m going to prioritize my kids and get back on my feet. I’m working through it and looking ahead.

Miranda hinted at drama between Jessi and Chase by sharing a video set to Kesha’s song “Backstabber.” She captioned it, saying she was getting ready while trying to understand why her friend group seemed to revolve around her ex-husband.

Miranda shared a video on Instagram on March 26th with the caption, “It’s not even surprising anymore, it just happens every time.”

She posted a picture of the apology flowers Jessi sent to her Instagram Story, along with a message saying she understood why the other person was upset and wanted to let them know she was thinking of them and sincerely apologized.

Miranda wrote below her note, adding a little upside-down smiley face, “Just got the most beautiful flowers!”

She thought that coparenting requires ongoing effort. She added that if they’d always had a perfect relationship, they likely wouldn’t have gotten divorced.

“The thing with him and I,” she continued, “we’ve always had a pretty good foundation of a friendship prior to even having a romantic relationship. I feel like that’s something that set us up for some level of success when it comes to co-parenting.”
