Director David Robert Mitchell is known for the acclaimed horror film ‘It Follows’ and ‘Under the Silver Lake’. After a nine-year gap, we’re finally getting a look at his latest project with the trailer for ‘The End of Oak Street‘.
Featuring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery, the film tells the story of the Platt family, whose quiet suburban street is suddenly transported to a strange, unknown location by a mysterious cosmic event. To survive, they must rely on each other as they try to navigate their completely changed world.
David Robert Mitchell wrote the film, and J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Mitchell himself, Matt Jackson, and Tommy Harper produced it. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee, and Leeann Stonebreaker served as executive producers. Mitchell collaborated with a team including director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino, and costume designer Erin Benach.
The movie was initially going to be called “Flowervale Street,” but the title changed before the first trailer was released. Originally, Oscar Isaac was set to star, but he left the project and Ewan McGregor took his place.
THE END OF OAK STREET will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 14th August 2026
