Since first appearing on television in 2013, PAW Patrol has become a hugely popular franchise for kids, and remains so today. Building on the success of the original series, which now has 13 seasons, Paramount and Nickelodeon released two PAW Patrol movies that have earned around $350 million worldwide. Now, the pups are back for a third film, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, where they’ll team up with dinosaurs from the prehistoric era.
I’m so excited for The Dino Movie! It’s officially happening – they announced it back in February 2025! From what I’ve heard, the PAW Patrol’s ship gets caught in a crazy storm and ends up on a secret, dinosaur-filled island. Apparently, they’ll meet a pup named Rex who’s been living there for years and basically knows everything about dinosaurs! With the movie coming out later this year, it’s awesome to finally get a good idea of what’s in store for this series we all love.
Parents magazine recently revealed the first images and details about “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie,” coming to theaters in August. The photos show the main PAW Patrol pups exploring a new island and getting used to life with dinosaurs.
One picture shows the team looking out from behind a large machine at the jungle, as if preparing for what’s coming next. Along with other shots of the island’s lush plants, another image reveals the dinosaurs they’ll meet on their adventure. It’s not yet known if these dinosaurs are friendly, but they seem calm in this first glimpse of the new film.
Audiences are excited to see what the adorable pups of this movie will do next, especially with such a talented cast voicing the characters. McKenna Grace, who will also play Daphne in the new Scooby-Doo movie on Netflix, returns as Skye, a Cockapoo and friend to Carter Young’s Marshall and Rain Janjua’s Chase, after first appearing in PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). The sequel also boasts a fantastic lineup of well-known stars from the 2000s and beyond, including Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), Paris Hilton (House of Wax), Snoop Dogg (Training Day), Jameela Jamil (The Good Place), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and even Bill Nye the Science Guy.
In the continuing story, the PAW Patrol’s biggest enemy, Mayor Humdinger, starts digging on the island, hoping to find valuable resources. This accidentally causes a volcano to erupt! Now, the pups must rescue dinosaurs all over the island, facing bigger and more dangerous challenges than they’ve ever seen before.
PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie will debut in theaters on Aug. 14, 2026.
