Toei Animation is creating a video game inspired by their 2014 anime movie, Expelled from Paradise. The game is scheduled to release in Japan this winter. More details, including the official name, type of game, which platforms it will be on, and who is developing it, will be revealed soon.
This game takes place in the universe of Expelled from Paradise and tells a brand new story. It’s being released around the same time as the sequel movie, Expelled from Paradise: Resonance of the Heart, which comes out on November 13th.
Further information was not announced.
Here is an overview of the original Expelled from Paradise film, via Aniplex of America:
Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus and director Seiji Mizushima have teamed up for their first original animated movie, created with cutting-edge 3D computer graphics.
The questions of where we came from, what it means to be human, and where we’re headed are explored in Expelled from Paradise. This anime delivers exciting entertainment by blending grand science fiction ideas with thrilling action.
Directed by Seiji Mizushima, known for works like Fullmetal Alchemist and Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and written by Gen Urobuchi, the creator of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero, Expelled from Paradise is a new and eagerly awaited film from these two celebrated talents.
In the future, humanity lives in a virtual paradise called DEVA. When a hacker on Earth breaches DEVA’s core system, DEVA’s leaders send system security officer Angela Balzac to Earth to investigate and uncover the hacker’s identity and motives.
What drives the hacker’s actions? Meanwhile, Angela arrives on the ruined landscape, piloting her powerful, armored suit, Arhan.
Urobuchi’s incredible vision of the future is realized through breathtaking animation directed by Mizushima and his team. The story features distinctive characters brought to life with cutting-edge 3D graphics and voiced by a talented cast.
I was really excited to hear Rie Kugimiya voicing Angela Balzac – she’s amazing! And Shin-ichiro Miki is perfect as Dingo, while Hiroshi Kamiya totally nails the role of Frontier Setter. The voice acting in this game is seriously top-notch.
Prepare for an extraordinary journey to explore the secrets of the world…!
