Robert Englund, known for his role in the Nightmare on Elm Street films, will lend his voice to a new animated series called Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. The show is a spin-off of the popular Stranger Things series.
The actor famous for playing Victor Creel in season four of the popular live-action series will provide a voice for a small part in the upcoming animated show, Cosmo.
We don’t know much about Cosmo yet, but the latest trailer for Tales from ’85 seems to reference Robert Englund’s famous role in Nightmare on Elm Street with a cardboard cutout of Freddy Krueger.
The upcoming prequel takes place in the winter of 1985, fitting between the storylines of seasons two and three of Stranger Things.
The story revisits Eleven, Max, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will as they try to enjoy a normal life filled with games and winter fun. But their peaceful days are disrupted when strange new monsters appear, and they’re drawn into a frightening paranormal mystery that threatens their town.
Something frightening has emerged from under the ice, and its origins are unknown. Is it connected to the Upside Down, a secret from Hawkins Lab, or something completely different? This new story in the Stranger Things world follows our heroes as they desperately try to uncover the truth and protect Hawkins.

The voice cast also includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper, alongside Englund.
The voice cast includes Jeremy Jordan as Steve, Janeane Garofalo as Anna Baxter, Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel Fischer, Alysia Reiner as Karen Wheeler, Alessandra Antonelli as Nancy Wheeler, Valeria Rodriguez as Rosario, and Jack Griffo as Jeff.
You can start watching Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 on Netflix this Thursday, April 23rd. All previous seasons of Stranger Things are currently available for streaming.
