What a truly bizarre month it’s been for the PS5 Pro.

Sony received positive reviews in early March thanks to its new PSSR 2 upscaler. This improved version resolves all the issues found in the previous model.

However, the month is closing with news of a significant price increase: the console will now cost $899.99 starting April 2nd – a jump of $150.

Sales are predicted to decrease significantly starting in April, but it appears many fans are making a final effort to purchase a console now, before they’re no longer available.

We’ve noticed a lot of PlayStation fans on X (formerly Twitter) buying a PS5 Pro this weekend, likely because they’re worried about it selling out. This observation is based on what we’ve seen and might be shaped by our own online experience, but it seems many are purchasing the console now rather than waiting.

Many of those buyers are saying much the same thing: it’s now or never before the price hike.
