Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning Starring in Their First Movie Together

Dakota Fanningand Elle Fanningare ready for their greatest reunion yet.

Actresses from the movies “Uptown Girls” and “The Great” will strengthen their sibling connection even more, as they prepare to share the screen together for the first time in an upcoming film.

For the first time, Dakota and Elle Fanning will appear in a movie together for the very first time, as announced by Sony Pictures on July 22. This announcement was made alongside the sisters through an Instagram post. The movie is based on the worldwide literary sensation, “The Nightingale,” written by Kristin Hannah.

Dakota (age 31) and Elle (age 27), along with their production company Lewellen Pictures, will collaborate on the movie project together with Hello Sunshine, a production company founded by Reese Witherspoon (who selected the internationally acclaimed book about two sisters in France during World War II for her Reese’s Book Club in 2023).

The film is currently scheduled to be released in February 2027.

In the 2001 movie “I Am Sam”, while both Fanning sisters were cast, Elle portrayed a younger version of Dakota’s character Lucy. Since they didn’t share any scenes in that film, their upcoming movie “The Nightingale” will be their first time acting together on screen.

Dakota shared that she and Elle have always had a strong bond, as they’ve both worked in the same field since their youth.

In an interview with TopMob News last May, the older sister explained that our bond is full of fun and games, but it doesn’t involve any form of competition. She added that throughout our childhood, we never engaged in any rivalry or striving to outdo each other.

The actress from “Man on Fire” noted that while there are apparent similarities between them, their personalities are quite distinct and they enjoy different things, which she believes is beneficial.

It’s likely that Dakota and Elle’s bond will grow stronger while working together on the set of “Nightingale”.

Dakota added to TopMob, “I truly consider myself lucky to have a sister. And what makes it even more special is having a sister who completely grasps every part of my life, which gives me a peace I can’t fully explain because it’s something I’ve always had.

She found it quite pleasant that they could comprehend each other’s experiences without needing to clarify certain aspects.
