The popular anime and film series Mobile Suit Gundam is expanding into the world of video games! Players will be able to pilot iconic Gundams and compete in exciting 5v5 battles that require both skill and strategy. The game is scheduled for release later this year.
I’ve been hearing a lot about this new miniatures game called Gundam Assemble. From what I understand, you’ll be leading a team of five Gundams against another player’s team in 5v5 battles, though they’ll also have 3v3 options. It looks like they’re launching with two Starter Sets, and there will be tons of different units available to build your dream team. Apparently, you’ll even find popular models like the Barbatas Lupus Rex and the RX782 Gundam in those starter sets (according to OnTableTop). The best part? It’s coming out this October, so we won’t have to wait long to try it out!
What Makes Gundam Assemble Stand Out (And What’s Included)

I’m really excited about Gundam Assembled! It’s a fantastic way to stage epic Gundam battles using cool miniatures, cards, and terrain. You move your units around the battlefield, using quick dashes, special moves, and weapons to outmaneuver your opponent. Plus, rescuing friendly bases gives you extra points, so there’s a lot of strategy involved. It’s a blast!

The game’s biggest change is the timeline, which is a track printed on the playmat. It has 10 spaces, and reaching the end of the track signals the end of a round – there are two rounds total in the game. Each player starts at a different point on the timeline, and the actions they take move them forward a certain number of spaces. This determines when they’ll get their next turn.
Another key element is the timing of unit activation. Weaker units act earlier in the game, but stronger attacks take up more space on the limited timeline. With only 10 timeline slots and 2 turns for actions, you need to decide if it’s better to use several smaller attacks to keep a unit active frequently, or unleash powerful attacks now and wait longer before using that unit again. This, combined with how you build your team, creates a lot of strategic depth even before the game begins.

Tactics cards offer powerful abilities to help you win battles. You start with only 3, but you can acquire more during the game. You can also find upgrade tokens on the map for extra advantages, but your team’s composition – choosing 3 to 5 characters – will be the biggest factor in how successful you are.
The Starter Set comes with six popular mobile suits – Barbatos Lupus Rex, Gundam Vidar, Gundam Epyon, Wing Gundam Zero, Zaku II, and the RX782 Gundam – providing everything you need for 3v3 battles. It also includes all the extras for playing, like Unit Cards, Tactical Cards, tokens, a game map, objective cards, dice, a rulebook, and a quick reference guide. Best of all, the entire set is available for just $35.00.

To play the 5v5 mode, you’ll need the Gundam Assemble Deluxe Set. This set includes 13 miniatures so you can build your team, plus all the cards, dice, maps, and tokens you’ll need. It also comes with paper terrain, but all these extras bring the total cost of the Deluxe Set to $100.

In addition to the core game, there are two expansion packs for the Gundam Assemble game, each costing $40, and a paint pack for $50. These will be available when the game launches, with even more sets planned for release in November and December, including a larger Deluxe Set and three Unit Expansions. If you’re searching for a new and engaging tabletop game, Gundam Assemble might be perfect for you. You can find all available sets here.
Gundam Assemble releases in October of 2026.
