Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Joseph Baena Wins 1st Bodybuilding Contest

Joseph Baena is terminating his competition.

Following in his famous father Arnold Schwarzenegger’s footsteps, 28-year-old Joseph Baena competed in his first bodybuilding competition in Denver on March 28th and won, impressing judges with his muscular build.

During the NPC Natural Colorado State competition, Joseph came in first place in several categories including Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class, Men’s Classic Physique—Novice and Men’s Classic Physique—True Novice, while finishing second in Men’s Classic Physique—Open Class C.

After the event, Joseph – whose mother is Mildred Baena – posted several photos on Instagram showing him flexing and posing on stage. He celebrated his success with the caption, “Mission Accomplished!”

I’ve been following Joseph’s fitness journey for a while now, and it’s amazing to see him thriving – especially considering his dad was a total legend, winning five Mr. Universe and seven Mr. Olympia titles! But Joseph isn’t just coasting on good genetics, that’s for sure. He recently shared a peek at how seriously he takes his diet, and it’s clear building healthy habits is a huge part of how he prepares for competitions. It’s really inspiring to see his dedication!

He shared on Instagram on March 25th that he’s been feeling great and has discovered that consistent effort is crucial for losing fat while maintaining muscle mass, rather than just seeing short-term results.

Although Joseph’s recent work seems to follow in Arnold’s footsteps by focusing on physical fitness, he’s also talked about the importance of establishing his own unique identity and career.

He explained to TopMob News in April 2023 that it’s challenging when someone has a successful parent. People often assume their achievements are due to family connections rather than their own merit, saying things like, ‘You only got that because of your parents.’ He acknowledged it’s a difficult situation, but something you must accept.

Joseph explained that as long as you’re truly working hard and making an effort, external opinions or setbacks shouldn’t discourage you.
