Anna Faris Jokingly Shares “Humiliating” Part of Being Mom to Son Jack

Anna Faris is embracing the scary parts of parenthood.

As a mom, I’ve been noticing some really funny changes with my son, Jack, now that he’s hit his teens! It’s been a trip watching him grow up, especially as he navigates this new phase. It’s a funny shift, seeing your little one become a teenager, and I’m enjoying (and sometimes being surprised by!) every moment of it. Chris and I are both so proud of him.

Anna explained in an interview with Will Marfuggi of TopMob News that it’s a shift from being constantly hands-on with someone for ten years, to them suddenly acting distant and complaining, like a teenager saying ‘Ugh, Mom!’

Anna Faris, known for her role in The House Bunny, has been surprised to find that her son Jack, who is 13, isn’t the only one who feels awkward about their family interactions at times.

Honestly, it’s just embarrassing how much I crave his validation. I find myself constantly seeking his reaction, almost desperately asking with my words – ‘Did that land? Did you think that was funny?’ It’s a silly habit, I know, but I can’t seem to help myself.

Meanwhile, Anna noted her teen has been “playing it cool” around his friends, too.

I’ve noticed a really sweet change in my son lately. He used to let the music play, but now, as we get closer to school or any kind of event, he automatically turns it down. It’s a small thing, but it shows he’s becoming more considerate of his surroundings and others, which is lovely to see!

Even though she’s dealing with the usual challenges of being a teenager, Anna is proud of how Jack has grown into a wonderful young man. She also considers herself lucky to be a stepmother to her husband Michael Barrett’s two children.

She described him as remarkably stable and resilient, comparing him to a tugboat – strong and unwavering. He doesn’t get easily upset, and having grown up around his parents’ work, he’s experienced a lot. She’s very happy to have him involved.

Plus, the Mom alum knows that “deep down he’s proud” of her. 

That’s why she’s thrilled he’ll be watching when she secretly performs as the Candy Crush character at the Los Angeles Clippers game on March 31st.

Anna is excited about her new collaboration with the puzzle game, which is taking over Intuit Dome. She’ll be participating as the character ‘Bubble Gum Troll,’ and it promises to be a really engaging and fun event, she said.

I was nervous standing in front of the crowd, hoping they wouldn’t react negatively. I was there to bring energy and create a fun, interactive experience for everyone at the Clippers game. No one will realize it’s me, but I’ll be enjoying it all from behind the mask.

Anna is thrilled Jack will be there to see her special on-court moment. She said having her 13-year-old son there means he’ll get to see her making people happy.
