Weapons, The Boys and more previewed in Prime Video’s April releases trailer
Prime Video just released a trailer showcasing what’s coming to the service in April 2026, including a preview of the horror movie Weapons. The film, directed and written by Zach Cregger, centers around the strange disappearance of seventeen children from a single classroom in one night.
The film Weapons features a talented cast including Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. Madigan plays Aunt Gladys, a mysterious relative who casts a spell on a family and holds children captive in a basement. Her portrayal of the character earned her both an Academy Award and an Actor Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Okay, let me tell you, this movie was a huge success. With a budget of just $38 million, it pulled in an incredible $270 million globally! The opening weekend was massive at $43.5 million, and it actually marked a pretty big achievement for Warner Bros. – they became the first studio ever to have six movies in a row debut with over $40 million. Critics loved it too – Rotten Tomatoes gave it a certified fresh rating of 93%, and they’re calling it a brilliant second feature for director Cregger, really cementing his place as a horror heavyweight.
People on YouTube seemed excited to see the movie featured in the trailer. One viewer already declared it their top horror pick for 2025, and another praised it as simply being excellent. Meanwhile, director Cregger is working on a prequel story centered around the character Aunt Gladys, co-writing it with Zach Shields.
The trailer highlights the upcoming fifth season of The Boys, starting April 8th with two episodes. This final season shows Homelander becoming more powerful, and Billy Butcher returning with a virus designed to take down all Supes. Fans can also look forward to the action-comedy Balls Up, starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser, arriving on Prime Video April 15th, followed by the Spanish-language miniseries The House of the Spirits on April 29th.
