Okay, so this is awesome! For the next few days – from now until April 6th – Xbox is letting us play five Assassin’s Creed games for free! I think I could actually finish one or two if I have a free weekend. It’s part of Xbox Free Play Days, so it’s only for Xbox One, Series S, and Series X consoles. The best part? You don’t even need an Xbox Game Pass subscription to jump in!
Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X owners can now play several Assassin’s Creed games at no cost, including Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey, Origins, and Unity. While the latest installment, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, isn’t included, many of the popular RPG-style games like Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins are available. The more traditionally styled Mirage is also part of the offer. Surprisingly, Unity is included as well, likely due to a recent update that significantly improved the gameplay experience and has reminded players how well the older game still plays.
Free to Play, But Not Keep
You can download and play all five of the listed Assassin’s Creed games for free until April 6th. After that date, you’ll need to purchase them to continue playing, but any progress you’ve saved will still be available.
Given the time limit, it’s most realistic to finish either Mirage or Unity. They’re much shorter and have less content than the other three Assassin’s Creed RPGs, which are huge open-world games. While you could try to play through those larger games, you won’t have time to fully complete them.
