Did You Catch Milo Ventimiglia’s Surprise Cameo in Jensen Ackles’ New Show?

In an unexpected twist, Jensen Ackles’ Amazon Prime series, titled “Countdown,” featured a guest appearance by Milo Ventimiglia, another popular heartthrob from the Warner Bros. stable, leaving viewers pleasantly surprised.

47-year-old Ventimiglia debuted in the initial scene of the show, which made its premiere on June 25th. He portrayed Officer Robert Darden, who previously served with U.S Customs and Border Patrol under Homeland Security, but was later killed in daylight. This event serves as a catalyst for the series, leading to an LAPD detective, played by Ackles, being enlisted onto a secretive task force comprised of undercover agents from multiple law enforcement agencies, with the objective of identifying and apprehending the murderer.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an intriguing premise for a thrilling adventure series that I believe will captivate audiences. The story revolves around a covert team tasked with unraveling a grand conspiracy while safeguarding Los Angeles from an imminent threat. Aside from Ackles, Ventimiglia, and Countdown stars Eric Dane, Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Uli Latukefu, and Elliot Knight, this team is the only one aware of the looming catastrophe. This gripping tale promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as they follow our heroes in their race against time to save not just the city, but potentially the world itself.

Although Ackles and Ventimiglia didn’t act together in the movie “Countdown”, the fact that they were both part of the same project is a delightful surprise for fans who cherished The WB. Milo Ventimiglia gained widespread recognition for his role as Jess Mariano on “Gilmore Girls” from 2000 to 2007. In contrast, Jensen Ackles was known for playing Dean Winchester in the fantasy drama “Supernatural”, which aired on The WB.

Besides sharing the same profession, Ackles and Ventimiglia have a connection through their work with Justin Hartley. In fact, Ventimiglia and Hartley, who are both 48 years old, worked together on the television series “This Is Us,” which ran from 2016 to 2022.

Later on, Hartley appeared as a lead character in CBS’s “Tracker”, and Ventimiglia hinted at his desire to guest-star on the series someday.

Just like you, I caught Justin’s show last night and I couldn’t be more thrilled for him, Ken, and Roxy Olin. Ventimiglia shared this with Us Weekly back in February 2024. He noticed a lot of familiar faces from ‘This Is Us’ in the production crew too.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my enthusiasm when I say Ventimiglia’s portrayal on the show was nothing short of exceptional, and Hartley’s role was downright delightful! The prospect of working alongside him again, or any other cast member from the last 28, 29 years, is something that promises to be an absolute blast!

As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about being part of the Tracker family! After landing the role as Hartley’s brother, Jared Ackles graced our screens with such a powerful performance that both fans and executive producer Elwood Reid are crossing their fingers for an expanded role in a potential spinoff. Here’s to hoping we get to see more of his captivating talent!

In an interview with Us Magazine in May, Reid expressed one key principle when creating spin-offs: “Avoid damaging the original show, don’t drain it of its essence.” He added, “At the same time, strive to make whatever you’re producing as high-quality and thoughtful as possible.

Reid playfully hinted at wanting to team up with Ackles once more, having already worked together on the ABC series, Big Sky.

He jokingly said, “I’m planning to poach Jensen.” Previously, we collaborated on a different project of mine, so I’m going to attempt to lure him away from The Boys and Countdown.

New episodes of Countdown air Wednesdays on Prime Video.
