The show will conclude after five seasons, marking the end of its six-year run. Although the finale promises to be exciting, it won’t be a special extended episode – it will be about the same length as previous episodes.
It’s become a trend for TV shows to make their final episodes longer than usual, giving fans a bigger experience and allowing creators to fully wrap up storylines. But The Boys will be different. Showrunner Eric Kripke has confirmed the series finale will be a standard length, similar to other episodes of the show.
The Boys Won’t Have a Super-Sized Finale
It’s actually around an hour and five minutes long,” Kripke explained. “We’re not making these episodes super long – definitely not 90 minutes. I worried the audience might get bored if we stretched them out that much. They’re usually about an hour and five to six minutes, but they’re all really packed with content.”
The latest news about the show remains encouraging. Although the final episode won’t be as long as a movie, Season 5 is shaping up to be incredibly eventful, with every episode promising intense action. Fans should be prepared for major characters to potentially not survive until the end. As this is the final season, no one is safe, and Karl Urban, one of the show’s leads, has suggested shocking deaths will begin right from the first episode.
Karl Urban says this season of the show is packed with action from the very beginning. He explained that no character is safe and that there will be deaths right away, signaling a high-stakes and thrilling final season.
The Boys Has Reached the End of Its Run
Originally debuting on Prime Video in 2019 and based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys has become a hugely popular show. While the series is ending, the story might not be over completely. A spin-off called Vought Rising is already being developed. Still, the finale of The Boys does feel like the end of a significant chapter.
Season 5 is the final chapter, and Homelander is firmly in control, acting on his unpredictable and self-centered desires. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are held captive in a so-called ‘Freedom Camp,’ while Annie tries to fight back against the powerful Supes. Kimiko is missing. But the return of Butcher, with a dangerous virus capable of eliminating all Supes, throws everything into chaos and sets off events that will drastically change the world. Get ready for a huge finale!
The Boys is , with Season 5 set to premiere on Apr. 8, 2026.
