It’s been confirmed by EA that they will reveal the trailer for Battlefield 6 tomorrow. However, rumors are circulating about its launch date and the different editions that will be available for purchase. According to Billbil-kun on Dealabs, it’s believed that Battlefield 6 is set to launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10.
Aside from the details provided, let me add that the report also mentions the pricing for each edition: The Standard Edition is priced at €79.99 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and €69.99 on PC. The Phantom Edition, however, is expected to sell for €109.99 on consoles and €99.99 on PC. The Phantom Edition will only be available digitally, and it comes with extra in-game items along with the game (although multiplayer early access won’t be included). These additional items can also be purchased separately as a Phantom Pack. Pre-orders for both editions are set to begin on July 31.
The planned release date for October 10 aligns with EA CEO Andrew Wilson’s expressed relief following the delay of “Grand Theft Auto 6” to May 2026. Although he didn’t explicitly confirm it, Wilson hinted at launching “Battlefield” during the fiscal year 2026.
This week, it was made official by EA that Battlefield 6 would be hosting an open beta trial. Although specifics are yet to be disclosed, they did confirm that the beta will offer a blend of two playstyles: the traditional mode with limitations on classes and weapons, and a modern style offering no such restrictions but providing incentives for using Signature Weapons in each class.
In the upcoming beta version, we anticipate including one or two maps, along with the well-known multiplayer modes that the Battlefield series is renowned for: Conquest and Rush. We’ll probably unveil additional information about the game shortly following the release of its official trailer tomorrow.
The unique fashion of Signature Weapons, which allows characters to wield any type of weapon, was initially showcased in May during the Battlefield Labs playtest. The game creators—Ripple Effect, DICE, and Criterion—disclosed that this system enables a Medic, for instance, to carry a sniper rifle. Nevertheless, Recon characters would gain more advantage from using snipers as it serves as their Signature Weapon, providing perks such as the ability to steady their breath for precise aiming of long-range shots.
As a passionate enthusiast, I must admit that the unveiling of the new system left me with a mix of excitement and apprehension. The objective appears to be fostering versatility in play styles across all character classes without constraining the types of gear we can equip in our loadouts. However, the response from the community was diverse, with one prominent commentator deeming it the game’s “first significant stumble” or, as some might say, its “first big L”.
Just prior to Electronic Arts (EA) officially announcing that the game’s title would be Battlefield 6, whispers began circulating due to content creator Doom49 posting a photo of the promotional care package they received from EA. This since-removed post showcased the game’s logo prominently.
