The world of Cyberpunk is thriving right now. We have the popular video game from CD Projekt Red, the hit animated series on Netflix, and a hugely successful Kickstarter for the Cyberpunk TCG. Now, another Cyberpunk game is in development, and it’s inspired by the popular Netflix series.
The upcoming game, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted, is inspired by the popular Netflix animated series Edgerunners. Players will control characters Lucy, David, Rebecca, and Maine, combining their unique skills to complete missions and escape the city. Each playthrough is designed to be quick, lasting about 25 minutes. Pre-orders are available now, and the game will be released in September 2026.
What Should You Expect From Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted?
In Cyberpunk Edgerunners – Hunted, the game begins with a starting map of Night City made up of connected tiles. These tiles determine the paths players can take. The goal is for all four characters to reach a randomly placed exit tile before the game ends.
As you explore the city, you’ll complete a shared Mission Card as a team. For a greater challenge, you can take on up to three mission cards simultaneously. Keep in mind that time is always running out – the hourglass advances every time it empties, making each decision you make critically important.
Okay, so in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted, the game basically happens in two parts: our team’s turn and the enemy’s turn. When it’s our turn, we’re all supposed to be acting at the same time because there’s a timer running. It’s a bit chaotic, but that’s the fun of it! We definitely need to talk to each other and coordinate our attacks if we want to survive and take down the bad guys.
Once the Edgerunner phase is over, the game moves to the Enemy Phase. During this phase, enemies will head straight for the nearest Edgerunner and attack if they can reach them. To make things harder, each enemy attack advances the time tracker, bringing the team closer to losing the game. Unlike a typical timer, this tracker only moves in one direction, meaning every attack costs valuable time.
To win the game, you need to finish the objectives on your mission card(s) and guide all four of your Edgerunners to the Exit Tile, which appears during gameplay. Each time you play will be unique because the city is randomly created at the start, and your choice of Edgerunners also changes things up. We’re excited to see how players experience the game!
You can now pre-order Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – Hunted, which will be available in stores in September 2026.
