Every Marvel Netflix Character Who’ve Now Appeared in Spider-Man Movies

The Marvel shows that originally aired on Netflix featured some fantastic characters, and we’re now seeing those characters appear in other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects. Starting with Daredevil in 2015, Netflix created a connected universe of Marvel shows, culminating in a team-up series called The Defenders. While fans loved these shows, they were initially treated as separate from the main MCU, which was frustrating. Fortunately, several characters from the Netflix series have since returned, integrating them with the MCU’s established heroes. It seems these characters are particularly drawn to working with one hero in particular.

Ever since Spider-Man became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s appeared in his own films and teamed up with the Avengers. His solo adventures have introduced him to many Marvel characters who operate on a similar, more grounded level, creating a link to the heroes from Marvel’s Netflix shows. Now that we’re expecting more connections between these two worlds, here’s a list of every character from the Netflix series who has either already been in a Spider-Man movie or is confirmed to appear in one.

4) Daredevil

Spider-Man and Daredevil are two of Marvel’s most popular heroes who operate on a more personal, street-level scale. They’ve already met within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with Charlie Cox making a surprise appearance as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home. This cameo officially linked the old Marvel Netflix series to the main MCU storyline. In the film, Matt Murdock (Daredevil) provided legal help to Peter Parker after his identity was revealed. There’s also speculation that Cox will return as Daredevil in the next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

3) The Punisher

Fans have known for a while that the Punisher will be back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2026. He was first brought back into the franchise in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. Jon Bernthal originally played the Punisher in season 2 of Daredevil, and his performance was so popular that he got his own series. Beyond that, he appeared in a Marvel special presentation and is now confirmed to be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, where he’ll appear with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

2) The Hand

The Hand, a dangerous group known for being Daredevil’s enemies, appears to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Though not a single character, this mystical organization of skilled fighters and criminals will also be causing trouble for Spider-Man, as shown in the trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While details about their role are still unclear, The Hand represents another element from Marvel’s old Netflix shows now appearing in an MCU Spider-Man film.

1) Sheila Rivera

Sheila Rivera, a character first seen in the Netflix series Daredevil: Born Again, is now appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’s a prominent figure in New York City government, working under Wilson Fisk. Rivera will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and will reportedly present Spider-Man with the Key to the City. While she likely won’t have a major role, her appearance continues to connect the storylines from the old Netflix Marvel shows with the current MCU films.
