While Kitty and Min Ho finally become a couple – a development hinted at from the beginning – their relationship isn’t simple. They struggle with communication and learning to trust each other.

I loved the sweet romance between Lara Jean and Peter in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, but honestly, XO, Kitty felt like a real step forward. The original movie was charming, but the spin-off series really broadened things by including different kinds of love stories. It just added a layer of depth and maturity that, at times, the first film was missing. It felt more grown-up and relatable, and I really appreciated that.

While the Covey sisters deeply cherished their mother and cultural background, XO, Kitty explores their heritage more fully than To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. In the original movies, their mother isn’t a central focus, but in the XO, Kitty spin-off, her story and impact are the main driving force.

Despite everything, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before felt more realistic. The Netflix movies avoided overly dramatic or needlessly complex love stories. This isn’t to say XO, Kitty is a bad show – it has good qualities, like Kitty’s personal development over its three seasons.
