In the spirit of my admiration for the original, I’m excited to share that, just as in the first game, you can acquire and enjoy playing a Harmonica in Death Stranding 2. This item is one you’ll find yourself with relatively early on in your journey, and taking breaks to play it offers subtle yet significant benefits. It not only brings a smile to BB, which we always strive for, but also creates a moment of tranquility amidst the game’s otherwise intense action. So, let’s delve deeper into how you can make beautiful music with this instrument!
How To Play The Harmonica | Death Stranding 2

Initially, to start playing, you’ll first require a Harmonica. If you don’t have one yet, just keep moving forward with the game’s main plot. You’ll acquire it automatically, quite early in the game, and it won’t take long for Sam to get his hands on it!
As a gamer, I’d say: “To play the Harmonica in this game, first find yourself a secure spot in the open world and then simply press the Square button on my controller to start playing it.

When taking a break, navigate to the customization menu using the ‘Left’ key on your control pad. Locate the Harmonica under the ‘Face’ section and attach it by pressing the ‘X’ button. You can use this accessory with other customizations such as glasses, as it doesn’t replace them.

To make Sam play a tune with the harmonica, simply touch the far right side of the touchpad while keeping it rested. This will cheer up BB and earn you some Likes, but remember, like in Death Stranding 1, you can’t create your own melody with the harmonica. Sadly, no freestyle for Sam!
Regardless, now you’re equipped with all the essentials for playing the Harmonica in Death Stranding 2. Use it wisely to uplift BB’s spirits whenever you can and gather some additional Likes. Truth be told, there’s no such thing as too much joy while being a porter.
