Zendaya has left a permanent impact on her mom in more ways than one.
The actress, known for her role in Drama, recently shared that she started her mother, Claire Stoermer,’s love of tattoos 12 years ago. She designed a tattoo for her mom, and it turned out to be the first of many.
Zendaya revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she encouraged her mother to get her first tattoo at age 50. Zendaya even designed the tattoo herself, and now her mother frequently gets new tattoos, often calling Zendaya out of the blue to share the news.
She’s fully dressed now, almost completely covered up,” the 29-year-old explained. “She looks like a living work of art.”
But for Zendaya, body inking is not bothersome. In fact, she told Jennifer Hudson, “I like tattoos.”
It wasn’t shocking to hear the news, as Zendaya had already revealed a small “t” tattoo on her side at the 2025 Golden Globes – many fans think it’s a tribute to Tom Holland. That night, the couple also confirmed their engagement when Zendaya appeared on the red carpet wearing a diamond ring.
Despite rumors, the couple hasn’t officially confirmed their relationship status. This year, speculation increased when Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach, hinted that the Spider-Man actors had secretly gotten married, but they haven’t spoken publicly about it.
Zendaya, spotted with a gold ring on her left hand a couple of days before March 1st, further sparked engagement rumors when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on March 16th. When asked about the speculation, she jokingly responded that she hadn’t noticed it.
Zendaya’s mother has also publicly shared her thoughts on the rumors about her daughter’s marriage.

The day after Jude Law spoke at the Actor Awards, Claire posted a video of his comments to her Instagram Story, adding a laughing emoji. She also playfully referenced his reaction in the video, simply writing, “The laugh….”
It’s understandable that Zendaya and Tom would want to keep their wedding a private affair, whenever it happened. They’ve always made it clear that privacy is very important to them as a couple.
As someone who’s seen a lot of relationships come and go, I always admire couples who prioritize their privacy. Tom recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter that his relationship is something he and his partner are fiercely protective of—and I totally get it! They feel they don’t need to explain or share details with anyone; it’s simply their relationship, and that’s perfectly healthy. It’s refreshing to see a couple so committed to keeping what they have special and just for themselves.
Zendaya isn’t the first celebrity to show her love with a tattoo dedicated to her partner. Here are some other stars who’ve done the same…

Now this is committment.
Jennifer Lopez revealed the matching tattoos she and her husband, Ben Affleck, got to celebrate their relationship in a Valentine’s Day Instagram post last year. Lopez’s tattoo shows an arrow going through an infinity symbol formed by their names, and Affleck’s features arrows with their initials.
Lopez shared photos of matching tattoos with a sweet Valentine’s Day message: “Commitment. Happy Valentine’s Day my love #CommitmentIsSexy.”

Taylor Lautner, the actor known from the Twilight films, and his wife, who also goes by Taylor Lautner, recently celebrated their marriage by getting matching tattoos.
A video shared on Instagram last March revealed that Taylor and her partner have matching tattoos of their wedding date on their forearms.
She called it the “best birthday surprise ever” and shared a video of her and her partner’s matching tattoos – “11.11.22” inked near their wrists. On Instagram, she playfully commented, “Like having the same name wasn’t enough!”

Following her quick engagement and marriage to tennis player Ryan Sweeting, which ended in 2015, actress Kaley Cuoco (known for The Big Bang Theory) visited a tattoo parlor to have a wedding date tattoo removed from her back, hoping to move forward.
Kaley Cuoco shared a photo on Instagram of her removing a wedding date tattoo, along with a lighthearted message for her followers: “A reminder to myself—don’t tattoo any future wedding dates on your body! #lessonslearned #donttakeyourselftooseriously”

Before their big wedding in April 2022, the model got a tattoo of her then-fiancé’s name, Brooklyn, on her back. However, that seems small compared to the 70 tattoos Brooklyn has gotten to honor his wife, including a portrait of her on his upper arm.

While enjoying a boat trip with friends in Bolsena, Italy on July 28th, Harry Styles was seen with a new tattoo on his thigh that appears to say “Olivia.” Fans speculate this could be a reference to his ex-girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, whom he dated for two years. However, it could also be a nod to a song he co-wrote during his time in One Direction, also titled “Olivia.”
TopMob News reached out to the pop star’s rep for comment about his tattoo and has not heard back.

In the 1990s, actress Melanie Griffith got a tattoo of her then-husband, Antonio Banderas’ name, on her right arm, inside a heart. After they divorced in 2015, she had the tattoo removed.

In September 2020, the musician shared a playful and suggestive tribute to his wife, Hilary Duff, on Instagram. He displayed her name written in cursive script on his buttock.

While dating Kim Kardashian for nine months, Pete Davidson got several tattoos to show his affection. He already had many tattoos, and added to them with phrases like “My Girl Is A Lawyer” on his neck. He also got tattoos referencing their first kiss – the names “Jasmine” and “Aladdin” with an infinity symbol, inspired by an Aladdin sketch they did on Saturday Night Live. He even got the initials of Kim’s four children with Kanye West tattooed on his skin.
Following his split from Kim Kardashian in August 2022, Pete Davidson reportedly started covering up tattoos he’d gotten in her honor, including the tattoo of her name, “KIM,” on his chest – which she had previously called a permanent mark of their relationship.
Kim Kardashian shared that her ex-partner expressed a desire for a tattoo he couldn’t easily remove. He was already covering up tattoos on his arms and neck, and he wanted this new tattoo to be permanent – something that would stay with him like a scar. She recounted this during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2022.
Pete Davidson has removed tattoos related to past relationships before. He covered up a tattoo of his ex-girlfriend, Cazzie David, shortly after he started dating Ariana Grande in 2018. And speaking of Ariana…

Johnny Depp famously altered a tattoo dedicated to Winona Ryder after their split in 1993. Originally reading “Winona Forever,” he changed it to “Wino Forever” – a well-known story in Hollywood tattoo mishaps.

In 2021, Selling Sunset star Heather Rae Young sparked a lot of online conversation when she revealed a tattoo dedicated to her future husband, Tarek El Moussa. The tattoo, which says “Yes sir, Mr. El Moussa,” is located on her hip.
The real estate agent told TopMob News she did it as a sweet gesture for her fiancé, who she’ll soon be marrying. She explained that she’s changing her name to El Moussa and that they have a playful tradition at home where she’s called ‘queen of the house’ and her fiancé is ‘the boss’ – something they enjoy with their children.

In 2013, Zayn Malik, formerly of One Direction, got a tattoo of his girlfriend at the time, Perrie Edwards, on his arm. After they split up, he changed the tattoo, covering the portrait of the Little Mix singer with a drawing of a UFO in a night sky.
The singer, known for his song “Pillow Talk,” famously had his former girlfriend Gigi Hadid’s eyes tattooed on his chest. This happened before they broke up in 2021.

Supermodel Heidi Klum got a tattoo of her then-husband Seal’s name on her forearm in 2008 to mark their fourth wedding anniversary. When they divorced four years later, Klum had the tattoo removed.

When Angelina Jolie was married to Billy Bob Thornton, she got a tattoo of his name on her left arm. After they divorced in 2003, she famously covered it up with the birthplaces of all six of her children.

After breaking up with Tyga in 2017, the Kardashian family member changed a tattoo she got for the rapper. It originally featured a cursive “T” but was altered to say “LA.”

Nick Cannon famously had Mariah Carey’s name tattooed on his back while they were married for eight years. However, it became clear their relationship was over when he covered the tattoo with a large crucifix only a few months after they separated in October 2014.

After divorcing basketball player Tony Parker in 2010, actress Eva Longoria removed three tattoos dedicated to him. These included his jersey number on her neck, their wedding date on her wrist, and his initials, which were located elsewhere on her body.
