The latest game receiving a significant upgrade for the PS5 Pro is shaping up to be the best one yet. Sony’s recent “PSSR 2” update, which started in late February, has dramatically improved the graphics and performance of several popular games on the console. Titles like Resident Evil Requiem, Crimson Desert, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Silent Hill 2, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth have already been enhanced for PS5 Pro, with more updates planned. We’ve now learned which game is next, and it’s arguably the most anticipated title so far.
Today, it was revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be updated to take full advantage of the PS5 Pro’s new features. Since its release in 2020, CD Projekt Red has significantly improved the game, and many players now consider it a standout title on PS5. This update will dramatically enhance the game’s ray tracing, performance, and lighting, making the city of Night City look better than ever on PlayStation. The update, which includes support for PSSR 2, will be available on April 8th.
If you haven’t yet played Cyberpunk 2077 and you have a PS5 Pro, now is the perfect time to start. It’s a great game, and it’s likely to look incredible on the new console – potentially showcasing everything the PS5 Pro can do.
PS5 Pro Now Has One Disappointing Downside

It’s exciting that many games are getting major upgrades on the PS5 Pro, but the console now has a significant drawback: its price. The PS5 Pro recently received its second price increase, and now costs a hefty $900. That’s $200 more than its launch price in 2024, which is a lot to ask, especially considering the PS6 might be released next year.
If you don’t already have a PS5 Pro, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to justify buying one. While Sony and game developers are doing a great job utilizing the new PSSR 2 technology, it will be hard to convince people to spend around $1000 on the console in 2026.
