Out of the Blue, the Spanish studio behind the 2021 puzzle game Call of the Sea, has announced its next title. Call of the Elder Gods will be available on PlayStation 5 starting May 12th, 2026, and a new trailer is available to watch now.
The new game continues the focus on challenging puzzles, but this time they’re designed to be even more complex. You’ll control two characters, Harry and Evangeline, as they solve puzzles that span different times and places. To help you, you can customize the difficulty by turning hints, icons, and journal entries on or off, letting you play exactly how you like.
Join Harry Everhart and Evangeline Drayton on a quest to uncover what happened to their missing family members, and prepare to encounter creatures beyond human comprehension. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s The Shadow of Time, this story features the voices of Yuri Lowenthal (known for his work in Marvel’s Spider-Man) and Cissy Jones (from Firewatch).
You can now play Call of the Sea on PS Plus Extra if you’re looking for a new game. We gave it a 6 out of 10 in our review on PS5, enjoying its puzzles and beautiful island environment. We thought it was a generally enjoyable puzzle game, though the story’s mystery wasn’t quite as strong as it could have been.
