So, they’re giving away some free credit for software, which is cool. But it’s not just handed out – you actually have to play a certain game and show you can commit to it. It’s nice to see a giveaway that rewards players for actually, you know, playing!
PlayStation Plus comes in three levels. Even the basic level is required to play games online with others. The second level, called Extra, lets you download and play a variety of games at no extra cost—similar to Xbox Game Pass. The highest level, Premium, gives you access to classic games from older PlayStation consoles, and even allows you to stream PlayStation 3 games.
PlayStation Plus Movie Credit Is Available For Free (But There’s A Catch)
I’m a huge PlayStation Plus fan, and right now they’re doing something really cool for Resident Evil fans like me! I just saw that if you play any game through the PlayStation Plus Extra library, you can actually earn credits to use on Sony Pictures Core. It’s a neat little bonus for subscribers!
If you play Resident Evil Village for at least 30 minutes, you’ll get a movie credit you can use in the Sony Pictures Core app on your PlayStation. The good news is Resident Evil Village is currently free for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, so you don’t need to buy anything to get the credit!
This offer is available to players who already own the game, but they must be PlayStation Plus members to get the reward. You can play Resident Evil Village between April 7th and April 30th. PlayStation Plus members who play during this period will receive the credit on May 8, 2026.
Resident Evil Village Will Unlock a Free Movie Credit for a Limited Time
The beginning of Resident Evil Village is a standout experience, putting players in a terrifying fight for survival as Ethan Winters. Though some players feel the game loses some of its momentum after the third major boss, it remains a fantastic game as a whole.
With Resident Evil Requiem recently released, now’s a great time to revisit the previous game. Plus, the free in-game credit you can earn for playing is a nice bonus!
PlayStation Plus members can use their Sony Pictures movie credits to buy or rent movies through the app. The number of credits needed depends on the film. Recent releases might cost more than one credit, so players might need to combine their free credit from the Resident Evil Village promotion with additional credits to get an older movie.
Despite a few restrictions, a free credit just for playing an older game is a great deal. If enough people try Resident Evil Village through this promotion, PlayStation Plus might start offering similar freebies to players regularly.
