Nickelodeon’s Next Nicktoons Crossover is Its Most Bizarre Yet

I’ve always been a huge Nickelodeon fan, and it’s amazing how much impact their original cartoons – the Nicktoons – have had! Shows like Invader Zim, Hey Arnold!, Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, and especially SpongeBob SquarePants have kept the network going strong for years, and these characters are still relevant today. It’s so cool to see them team up in a brand new way – a Nickelodeon crossover where our favorite animated stars are hitting the basketball court! It’s not the crossover we expected, but it really proves just how much staying power these Nicktoons have built over the decades.

A new video game called Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis: Next! is bringing together 15 characters from classic Nickelodeon cartoons, plus a few surprises! Players will be able to play as favorites like Zim, Rocko, Aang, Angelica, Danny Phantom, and Spongebob, alongside unexpected guests like Michaelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Garfield. The game launches May 28th, and while it’s a pretty unusual team-up for these characters, it’s not the first time Nickelodeon stars have crossed over in recent years. The Nickelodeon Crossovers of Yore

Besides the new crossover event, characters from different Nickelodeon shows have teamed up frequently in video games. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was a fighting game where beloved animated characters battled it out, while the Nickelodeon Kart Races series let them compete in racing games. NickToons Unite was another game that brought many of these characters together in an action-packed adventure. Fortunately, these characters haven’t just crossed over in games – they’ve also appeared together in animated shows.

Throughout the history of Nicktoons, characters from different Nickelodeon shows have often crossed over into each other’s worlds. One of the first times this happened was when Chucky from Rugrats met Krumm, Oblina, and Ickis from Aaahh!! Real Monsters. Later, the movie Rugrats Go Wild brought the babies together with the Thornberrys. After that, Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents had several crossover specials, and Nicktoons have been teaming up in surprising ways ever since.
