Jill Duggar Dillard is moving on.
Jill Duggar, known from the show Counting On, announced that her family is moving from Arkansas. Her husband, Derick Dillard, recently joined the Marine Corps, and they will be relocating with their three sons: Israel, 11, Samuel, 8, and Frederick, 3.
I’m so excited for Derick! He’s heading off to Quantico, Virginia for active duty in just a few weeks. We’re praying everything goes well, and he’ll hopefully be commissioned as an officer after Officer Candidate School. After that, he’ll have a couple more trainings before starting his career as a Marine Corps JAG officer – basically, he’ll be a lawyer serving in the Marines, and we couldn’t be prouder!
Derick has long dreamed of becoming a military lawyer, and he even received a recruitment letter from the Marine Corps last year. However, he felt the time wasn’t right for his family.
Fortunately, a second opportunity came in March.
Jill expressed her amazement at how smoothly things were progressing and how many opportunities were appearing. She feels certain that this is because of divine guidance, stating, “We can’t deny God is leading us.”
The former star of 19 Kids and Counting says she and her children will relocate to Virginia once her husband completes his 10-week training program. After that, the whole family plans to move again, this time to Rhode Island.
Jill asked for prayers for Derick as he gets ready for and trains at Officer Candidate School. She also requested prayers for the family while he’s away and as they adjust to some upcoming changes.
Jill has moved away from her home before. Growing up with eighteen siblings on her family’s property in Springdale, she’s accustomed to new beginnings. Shortly after marrying Derick in 2014, they moved to Central America to work as missionaries.

2017 was HUGE. That’s when they finally came back to Arkansas, and even more importantly, they finally broke free from TLC and, honestly, from Jill’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. It felt like they were finally taking control of their lives, and I was SO relieved. I’d been worried about them for so long, and it felt like a weight lifted when they distanced themselves. It was a turning point, I just knew it!
In a 2020 YouTube video, Derick explained they were forced to choose between their family’s priorities and continuing to film the show. He said prioritizing their family goals was the best decision for everyone.
Things haven’t been good between Derick and Jill’s parents, and have actually gotten worse. Last year, after a visit home for Christmas, Derick publicly stated he doesn’t respect Jill’s father, Jim Bob, explaining that Jim Bob only spoke to him briefly during the visit.
We’re making an effort to be polite for the kids, but things aren’t perfect,” he shared on Instagram. “And I won’t stay silent when others twist the truth to suit themselves.

These two lovebirds have been together since high school, and their family has grown to include nineteen children and over thirty-six grandchildren.
Michelle remembers accepting a religious faith at age 15. Later, Jim Bob was visiting homes in the neighborhood as part of his church’s outreach program. A friend mentioned a newly religious cheerleader lived with the Ruark family, so Jim Bob went to their door.
Jim Bob and Michelle met at Sunday school, where Jim Bob hoped they would become spiritual mentors to each other, though Michelle didn’t recall the first meeting being particularly memorable. A year later, Michelle applied for a job at the frozen yogurt shop owned by Jim Bob’s parents. She remembers meeting him at the counter. He was shy but kind, and after working up the courage, he asked her to go to the junior-senior banquet with him. Michelle shared this memory in a 2017 blog post celebrating Jim Bob’s birthday and their 33rd wedding anniversary.
Michelle and Jim Bob first connected at a dinner held at Shiloh Christian, but they truly bonded later that night while spending hours at her parents’ house discussing the Bible. As Michelle recalls, that’s when they felt their hearts connect. They graduated high school in May 1984 and were married just two months later in July. Michelle was 17 at the time, and Jim Bob was 19.

The couple dedicated themselves to God and each other for the long run.
Jim Bob previously served as a state representative for Arkansas’s sixth district from 1999 to 2002, where he was the vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee. He unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in 2002 and later sought the Republican nomination for the Arkansas State Senate in District 35 in 2006, but was not selected.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, both real estate agents, are known for their conservative beliefs. These beliefs have made them both strong advocates for and faced criticism regarding their show, 19 Kids and Counting (originally titled 17 Kids and Counting when it began in 2008).
As of October 2024, they were grandparents of 33 with three on the way.

Josh Duggar, the oldest of the Duggar children, was born on March 3, 1988. Like his parents, he became involved in conservative activism, working with the Family Research Council.
Josh Duggar resigned after old police records from 2015 came to light, detailing accusations that he had sexually abused multiple girls, including his sisters Jessa and Jill Duggar, during his teenage years. In a June interview with Fox News, Jessa defended her brother, claiming the accusations were exaggerated and untrue, and stated she was one of the victims herself, which is why she felt comfortable speaking out.

His wife, Anna Duggar, whom he married on September 26, 2008, in a ceremony shown on the show 19 Kids and Counting, remained supportive, even after he confessed to infidelity.
Oh my gosh, when he went to treatment in 2016, his parents were so hopeful! They called it “a crucial first step in recovering and healing,” and honestly, it felt like such a relief just hearing them say it. It meant they believed he could get better, and that meant everything to me, and to all of us who care about him so much. It was like a little glimmer of hope in a really dark time.
Anna and her husband have seven children: Mackynzie (born October 8, 2009), Michael (June 15, 2011), Marcus (June 2, 2013), Meredith (July 16, 2015), Mason Garett (September 12, 2017), Maryella Hope (November 27, 2019), and Madyson Lily (October 23, 2021). Meredith was born on the same day TLC canceled 19 Kids.
I still can’t believe it. Back in April 2021, they charged Josh with receiving and having child pornography – it was awful to even read. He said he didn’t do it, pleaded not guilty to both things, but then in 2022… he was found guilty. Though, thankfully, the judge threw out the possession charge, it didn’t change the outcome much. They sentenced him to twelve and a half years! It’s just… devastating.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE it! So, little Josh arrived, and then, like, almost immediately, Michelle was pregnant again! It was so heartbreaking when they lost that baby, I cried just hearing about it. They were so sad and praying for direction, and then… a MIRACLE! They found out they were expecting twins! I was absolutely thrilled for them, it was just the most amazing news!
It felt like a wonderful gift from God, a real encouragement for us,” she explained. “We’re still figuring things out, but it’s pretty remarkable. I nurse my babies, and they’re born very close together – just eight months apart! It’s another unexpected blessing in our family’s journey.
John-David Duggar and his twin sister Jana Duggar were born on Jan. 12, 1990.

John-David and Abbie-Grace Burnett married on November 3, 2018, after a quick romance and engagement. They had known each other for a few years before officially meeting at a church event in Oklahoma, where Abbie is from.
They welcomed daughter Grace Annette Duggar on Jan. 7, 2020 and son Charlie Duggar in September 2022.
On their 30th birthday in January 2020, Jana shared a heartfelt message about her and John. They’d often been asked if they had a special ‘twin connection’ – that feeling of knowing what the other is thinking or feeling. Jana had always said no, but she realized that when their daughter, Gracie, was born, she felt exactly the same joy as John did. She jokingly admitted that maybe the ‘twin thing’ was real after all!
Jana said it was lovely seeing them and Abbie as parents, adding that they were natural at it. She also pointed out that the qualities that made him a great brother would definitely make him a wonderful father.
Abbie and John-David welcomed their third child, a baby girl, in February 2026.

Jana watched eleven of her eighteen siblings get married before she met her husband, Stephen Wissmann. Stephen’s sister, Hannah, is married to Jana’s brother, Jeremiah. Despite feeling frustrated at times, Jana believes everything happened as it was meant to be, according to her faith.
Jana recently shared with People magazine that she didn’t always see how things fit together, but she trusts that God has a plan for everyone. That’s why she’s choosing to get married later in life. She believes everyone’s journey is unique, and if everyone followed the same path, life would be pretty dull.
On Dec. 30, 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, son Archie Gerald Wissmann.

Jill Dillard (born May 17, 1991) found love in a way similar to her parents. She first met her future husband, Derick, during a Christmas caroling event in December 2011. He and his church group stopped by the Duggar family home, and they were introduced.
Jim Bob brought Jill and Derick together, and they quickly connected through email and video calls. That November, Jill and her father visited Derick in Nepal, and their relationship blossomed. In February 2014, Derick formally asked Jim Bob for Jill’s hand in marriage, and they were married on June 21, 2014. They now have three sons: Israel, born April 6, 2015, Samuel, born July 8, 2017, and Frederick, born July 7, 2022.
In April 2024, Jill announced she and Derick had experienced a miscarriage, losing their first baby girl.
In the Amazon Prime Video documentary Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, which debuted in June 2023, Jill and Derick Duggar discussed the controversies and religious beliefs connected to their family.

Jim Bob and Michelle’s fifth child, Jessa Duggar, was born Nov. 4, 1992.
Jessa and Ben met at church, and he began courting her in 2013. This traditional approach to relationships was new to many viewers. Because the couple didn’t discuss their romantic lives before getting engaged, Jim Bob explained to People magazine that courting involves getting to know each other with both families involved, and setting goals together to see if they’re a good match for marriage. He contrasted this with dating, where couples often spend time alone, which can sometimes lead to physical intimacy.
Ben sought Jessa’s father’s permission, then proposed to her in August 2014, and it was then that they first held hands. They married on November 1, 2014. Jessa was expecting their first child when 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. TLC followed up with a special episode featuring Jill and Jessa discussing sexual abuse and raising awareness about the issue. Later that winter, the sisters starred in their own show, Jill and Jessa: Counting On, which eventually became Counting On and included other members of the Duggar family.
Jessa and Ben have four children: Spurgeon, born November 5, 2015; Henry, born February 6, 2017; Ivy Jane, born May 28, 2019; and Fern, born in July 2021. They also sadly experienced a miscarriage during the 2022 holidays. Most recently, they welcomed their fifth child, George, in December 2023.
In August 2025, Jessa announced the birth of son Edward.

The sixth Duggar child, Jinger Vuolo, was born Dec. 21, 1993.
Jinger and Jeremy first connected while doing ministry work in Laredo, Texas, and began dating in 2016. They got married on November 5, 2016 – which happened to be Jinger’s nephew Spurgeon’s birthday – and quickly faced speculation about whether they were expecting a baby. (It’s not easy to avoid overlapping important dates when you’re part of a large family of 19!)
In June 2017, on the show Counting On, Jinger shared that she and her family hoped to be settled in Laredo a year later, continuing their ministry and finding ways to serve God.
The couple’s daughter, Felicity, was born on July 19, 2018. They had previously announced in May of that year that they were expecting another child, but shared that Jinger had experienced a miscarriage in the fall of 2017. Their second daughter, Evangeline Jo, arrived in November 2020.
Son Finnegan Charles was born March 29, 2025.

Joseph Duggar, born on January 20, 1995, proposed to Kendra Caldwell in May 2017. They had met through church and had only been courting for a few months when he popped the question at his sister Joy-Anna’s wedding.
Joseph admitted he was nervous when he proposed, but he felt confident she would say yes, since she’d previously told him, ‘I’m just waiting on you!’ Kendra shared, ‘I’m incredibly happy and totally shocked. I have so much I want to say, but I’m just speechless!’
The couple has welcomed four children: Garrett, born in June 2018, Addison, born in November 2019, Brooklyn, born in February 2021, and Justus, born in 2022.

Joseph was arrested on March 18, 2026, accused of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl during a family trip to Florida in 2020. He has denied the charges, which involve inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.
Kendra was officially accused of child endangerment and unlawfully holding someone captive two days after being arrested.

Eighth in line, Josiah Duggar was born on Aug. 28, 1996.
After dating publicly for only a few months, the couple announced they were engaged in March 2018. He shared that he proposed to Lauren in the same location where her parents had gotten engaged, explaining that the property held a lot of family history and was therefore particularly meaningful to her.
Lauren’s future mother-in-law, Michelle, shared in a video on the family blog how much they adore her, calling her a “precious girl.” Jessa and Ben also sent their congratulations, along with chocolates shaped like hearts and kisses. Michelle jokingly said they knew the couple would likely want to save their first kiss for their wedding day, but offered the chocolates as a fun consolation prize if they visited.
Josiah previously dated Marjorie Jackson, but they ended their relationship in the summer of 2015. He told People magazine in March 2016 that they had enjoyed their time together and were both trying to discern what God wanted for them. Ultimately, Marjorie didn’t feel the timing was right, so they decided to take a break.
He and Lauren got married on June 30, 2018, and described their wedding day as “absolutely perfect” in an interview with People magazine. They became parents to daughter Bella Milagro on November 8, 2019—a name meaning “miracle baby”—after Lauren experienced a miscarriage in October 2018. The couple expanded their family with daughter Daisy in 2022, and welcomed a son, Ezra, in May 2023.

Ninth sibling Joy-Anna Duggar was born Oct. 28, 1997.
Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had been friends for 15 years before they began dating, and things moved quickly after that. Austin proposed in February 2017, and they were married just a few months later on May 26, 2017, at Cross Church in Rogers, Arkansas – the same wedding where Joseph Forsyth proposed to Kendra Caldwell!

Joy-Anna and Austin are parents to three children: Gideon Martin Forsyth, born February 23, 2018; Evelyn Mae Forsyth, born August 21, 2020; and Gunner James Forsyth, born May 17, 2023.

Jed and Jeremiah Duggar, the second set of twins born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, arrived on December 30, 1998.

Jed and Katey Nakatsu married in April 2021 after dating for a year. They have two children: a son named Truett, born in May 2022, and a daughter named Nora Kate, born in June 2023.
Jed and Katey shared the exciting news in July 2024 that they were expecting twin girls. Elsie Kate and Emma Kate arrived on January 8, 2025.

Jeremiah is a certified flight instructor and is married to Hannah Wissmann, who is the sister of Stephen (Jana’s husband). They have two daughters: Brynley, born in December 2022, and Brielle, born in February 2024.
They announced the arrival of their third daughter, Emery ‘Emy’ Jane Duggar, on May 18, 2025.

No. 12 Jason Duggar was born on April 21, 2000.
Back in January 2017, the Daily Mail said Jim Bob assisted Jase in purchasing a run-down house in Prairie Grove, Arkansas – roughly 30 minutes from the Duggar family’s property. Jase then used this as an opportunity to launch his own construction business.
He publicly revealed his relationship with Maddie Grace on Instagram in May 2024, and they got married in October of the same year.

Charmed No. 13, James Duggar was born July 7, 2001.
Okay, so he’s totally single right now, doesn’t seem to be looking, but honestly? He’s amazing with kids! He’s basically an uncle to everyone’s kids, and he absolutely adores all his nieces and nephews. It’s the cutest thing ever, and it just makes me fall for him even more!
Mom Michelle described James as the ‘fun uncle’ – someone all the younger boys admire and want to emulate. On his 19th birthday in 2019, she wrote that James could seemingly build or fix anything he set his mind to. Even when he was little, he loved taking things apart – appliances, toys, anything – to understand how they worked. He wasn’t just about taking them apart, though; he always put them back together, often with his own creative improvements!
James put in a lot of effort this year and earned his commercial driver’s license! He’s now skilled at operating large trucks and heavy equipment, and we’re excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for him.

No. 14 Justin Duggar arrived on Nov. 15, 2002.
He began dating Claire Spivey in September 2020, and they announced their engagement the following November. They were married on February 26, 2021.

Jackson Duggar, the fifteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle, was born on May 23, 2004. He’s pictured here with his older sister, Jill.

On Jackson’s sixteenth birthday, his mom, Michelle, complimented his funny personality and said she knew he was eager to finally get his driver’s license.

Johannah Duggar was born on October 11, 2005, which is why her family was featured in the special called 16 Kids and Moving In.
On her daughter’s fifteenth birthday in 2020, Michelle wrote about how much joy her daughter brings to everyone. She described her as friendly and someone who easily makes connections with others. Michelle also shared how much her younger sisters look up to her, and expressed her gratitude for being her mother.

Jennifer Duggar arrived on Aug. 2, 2007, then the baby of the family.
Their TLC show that premiered Sept. 29, 2008, was christened 17 Kids and Counting.

Now, OMG, she’s a teenager.
When her daughter, Jennifer, turned thirteen, Michelle described her as someone you can always count on, incredibly loyal, and a lot of fun! Jennifer is beloved by her younger cousins, who constantly want her to carry them around. She also has a huge heart for animals and is dedicated to caring for her pets daily. Just recently, she even helped raise a whole litter of seven bunnies!

Here on the right, the penultimate Duggar child was born Dec. 18, 2008.

In 2019, Jordyn-Grace’s mom described her as friendly and sociable, someone who immediately connects with everyone she meets. She also said Jordyn-Grace’s laughter always brightens their day.

Josie Duggar, born on December 10, 2009, was born three months early and weighed just 1 pound, 6 ounces at birth. She spent six months in the NICU, the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. Here, she’s pictured holding her niece, Meredith.

Michelle described her daughter Josie as incredibly energetic in a birthday message from 2020. She wrote that Josie is constantly on the go, from the moment she wakes up until bedtime!
