Coachella 2026: Manon Bannerman’s KATSEYE Hiatus Explained

Coachella 2026 is shaping up to be a major debut for one group.

KATSEYE is getting ready to perform on the Sahara stage at the California music festival on April 10th and 17th, right before headliner Sabrina Carpenter takes the stage. Band member Lara Raj says their first-ever Coachella performance will be particularly memorable.

I was so thrilled to hear Lara mention Coachella during the Live From TopMob Stream: Spotify Best New Artist Party 2026! She said they’re working incredibly hard and have something really exciting in the works. As a fan, I’m already on the edge of my seat to find out what it is!

The group, consisting of Lara, Yoonchae, Daniela Avanzini, Sophia Laforteza, and Megan Skiendiel, will be performing at Coachella without one of its members.

In February, the group announced that Manon Bannerman would be taking a break to prioritize her health and well-being.

The group expressed their full support for the decision in a post on X on February 20th, and reaffirmed their dedication to each other and their fans, who they say are incredibly important to them.

KATSEYE announced they would carry on as a five-member group while Manon was away, and shared their excitement about reuniting when the time was right.

They thanked their fans, known as EYEKONS, for their ongoing support and understanding.

As for Manon, she broke her silence on her hiatus soon after the news was confirmed.

On February 20th, she messaged her fans, letting them know she was doing well and taking care of herself. She thanked them for their concern, adding that while things don’t always go as planned, she’s staying positive and trusting that everything will work out.

KATSEYE continued to perform as planned, even at Lollapalooza Argentina, but acknowledged that Manon was missed. During their set on March 13th, Sophia paused to send a shout-out to the absent performer, asking the audience to show their support for Manon.

After the group KATSEYE – created on the 2023 reality show The Debut: Dream Academy – started promoting their new single “PINKY UP”, fans noticed that member Manon had removed KATSEYE from her Instagram profile. Soon after, Manon posted another statement in response to the online discussion.

She recently thanked her fans for all their support and kind messages. In a private message on April 2nd, she said she was grateful for their patience and that she and HxG are communicating well and feeling encouraged. She also confirmed she’s doing well and plans to share more updates soon.

With fans eagerly anticipating KATSEYE’s performance at Coachella, take a look back at some of the festival’s most memorable moments.

Anitta brought out the rapper as a surprise guest to perform “Onda Diferente.”

I was absolutely thrilled when Shania Twain came out onstage during Harry Styles’ Coachella set in 2022! They sang two of her biggest songs, ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ and ‘You’re Still the One,’ and it was such an amazing moment. I couldn’t believe it!

During his 2010 Coachella set, rapper Jay-Z surprised the crowd by bringing his wife, Beyoncé, onstage to perform their hit song “Young Forever.”

In 2012, when Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed at Coachella, they surprised everyone by bringing a holographic version of the late Tupac Shakur onto the stage. The rapper had passed away in 1996, and fans were amazed to see his image appear alongside his former collaborators. Social media continued to buzz about the incredible performance for months afterward.

In 2012, Calvin Harris surprised his audience by bringing Rihanna onstage. She performed her song “Where Have You Been” and then their collaboration, “We Found Love,” creating an unforgettable moment for fans. The pair repeated this exciting performance in 2016, much to the delight of the crowd.

Fans were shocked and excited when Fall Out Boy joined 2 Chainz onstage in 2013. 2 Chainz playfully declared to the crowd, “I didn’t just come to save hip hop, I came to save rock n’ roll too!”

Fans of Justin Bieber were thrilled when he unexpectedly appeared on stage with Chance the Rapper in 2014. Together, they performed their song, “Confident.”

Everyone knows Beyoncé is an incredible dancer, but she really showed off her skills as the ultimate backup dancer when she joined her sister Solange on stage in 2014. They teamed up again four years later, delivering another amazing performance at Beychella.

No one expected this collaboration! When Madonna joined Drake onstage during his 2015 concert, it was an unforgettable moment. After Drake performed his song named after her, he surprised the crowd by bringing Madonna herself out on stage. While the pairing was already amazing, it was their kiss that everyone talked about for weeks afterward.

It’s exciting to see artists connecting like this! After working together on a full mixtape, it was natural for Drake to join Future on stage for a performance in 2017.

Beyoncé’s concert was already a huge success, but fans got an extra surprise when her sister, Solange, joined her on stage. The biggest shock, though, was the unexpected reunion of Destiny’s Child! To top it all off, Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, also made an appearance during the weekend.

Ariana Grande’s 2019 performance was a huge surprise for fans when *NSYNC reunited on stage with her (though Justin Timberlake couldn’t be there due to his tour). The popular boy band performed their hit song “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and also joined Ariana for a special version of her song “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.”
