Renowned game creator Ron Gilbert and his team at Terrible Toybox are almost ready to launch their new game, Death By Scrolling, on consoles.
We first saw this game at Gamescom last year, where it was revealed it was coming to PC. Now, it’s also launching on PS5, and it will be available very soon โ on April 16th, 2026! It’s an auto-scrolling RPG with roguelike elements.
This game is a retro-style adventure where you pick a character with special skills and try to escape purgatory. The challenge? Levels constantly scroll, so you have to keep moving forward.
Your main goals are to stay alive, collect gold to buy useful items, improve your abilities with power-ups, and complete optional side quests โ all while continuing to move forward.
It also has Gilbert’s sense of humour weaved into it with quirky characters and silly dialogue.
This game has an interesting idea, and players on Steam seem to be enjoying it. If you’re interested in checking it out, Death By Scrolling is launching soon and costs $7.99.
