Jujutsu Kaisen’s Sequel Has an Exciting Update For Fans This Month

The manga series Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo finished in March 2026, after being published for six months. A follow-up series began in September 2025, a year after the main story ended. This new story is set 68 years after the Culling Game and focuses on the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zenin. The world faces a significant crisis when over 50,000 Simurians – an alien race – arrive in Japan seeking refuge. These Simurians have powers similar to those of sorcerers, and the Jujutsu world isn’t prepared to fight them if they become hostile. A large battle eventually leads to a resolution between the two sides, largely thanks to Yuji Itadori, but the story concludes with an unresolved cliffhanger.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting news about the series for over a month, and it’s coming soon! A well-known Jujutsu Kaisen account on X (formerly Twitter), @Go_Jover, announced that Modulo will share new details on April 27th. While the update likely concerns the final volume of the manga, that hasn’t been confirmed. With the second volume released on March 4th, fans are anticipating information about the concluding volume, which is currently scheduled for release on May 1st, 2026. There’s also speculation that it might include an epilogue, particularly after the ending of the latest chapter.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Still Needs to Answer Some Major Questions

While another full sequel isn’t likely right away, the current series, Modulo, might finish with an epilogue. The original manga ended with a four-part epilogue in its final volume (volume 30) to resolve key plot points and hint at future stories. The latest chapter of Modulo (chapter 25) concludes with Kyoko Tomoe lamenting her unsuccessful romantic relationships, as Dabura has returned to Simuria.

He had to leave to make sure the ritual to defeat Mahoraga finished and Yuka survived the fight. He also needed to handle some personal matters in Simuria. Once there, Dabura killed the leader of the Deskunte and then honored Dura by giving him a proper burial and recognizing him as a hero. Dabura didn’t want to be the tribe’s leader for very long, as he wasn’t interested in ruling or politics.

The last scene shows Kyoko and Yuka looking shocked as someone arrives. This suggests Dabura has come back for Kyoko, which fits with the story because he didn’t rule the Deskunte tribe for very long after killing their previous leader.

Even after the ending of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, many questions remain, particularly about what happens to Iori Okkotsu and Megumi Fushiguro, as they weren’t featured much in the finale. Now that Yuji has made a new life choice, there’s a possibility of seeing more of his story if the author, Gege Akutami, releases a multi-part epilogue. While the manga isn’t yet available in English, Viz Media is expected to announce an English release date sometime later this year.
