Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 4
Stories focused on street-level heroes are becoming increasingly popular in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and 2026 will highlight this trend, starting with the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The new season follows Matt Murdock as he continues to battle Mayor Wilson Fisk’s expanding influence over New York City. He’s now joined by a growing resistance, and a new hero will also be joining the fight in the MCU.
In the fourth episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, Daredevil has a touching scene with the new White Tiger, who officially becomes part of his fight against Mayor Fisk and his team targeting vigilantes. But honestly, this scene has me even more excited about the possibility of Daredevil and Spider-Man teaming up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s increasingly noticeable that Daredevil and Spider-Man have only had one brief, unmasked interaction as Matt Murdock and Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the existing connections and the current direction of the MCU, now seems like the ideal time to explore their relationship further.
Daredevil Just Gave The MCU’s New White Tiger The Power/Responsibility Talk
Okay, I was seriously blown away by the last episode! Angela del Toro totally rocked as the new White Tiger. Seeing her step into her uncle’s amulet and fight alongside Karen and Daredevil was awesome. They were all working to break out everyone Mayor Fisk had locked up in that Red Hood place, and even Swordsman, Jacques Duquesne, was among those they freed. It was such a great team-up and a really exciting debut for Angela!
In the latest episode of Daredevil: Born Again, Angela del Toro’s White Tiger formally teams up with the resistance, and Daredevil is backing her.
Daredevil motions for Angela to come closer and examines the amulet she’s wearing. He directly asks if she understands the weight of its power and if she’s prepared to handle it. Angela responds by turning the question around, asking Matt if he was ready when he first became Daredevil.
The new team-up in the MCU is great, but Daredevil and White Tiger’s discussion about power and responsibility really makes me hope Spider-Man joins them soon. It would feel very organic to see these heroes team up in more down-to-earth stories.
We’ve Waited Long Enough For A Daredevil/Spider-Man Team-Up In The MCU
It seems like the Marvel Cinematic Universe has explored almost every team-up possibility except pairing Daredevil and Spider-Man in their superhero costumes.
We’ve seen hints of a team-up before, like when Daredevil (Matt Murdock) appeared as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man also showed Spider-Man and Daredevil interacting, even fighting, in a story connected to the MCU. While that animated meeting – featuring Charlie Cox as Daredevil’s voice – was enjoyable, it doesn’t compare to a proper, live-action team-up within the main MCU timeline.
There’s good reason to be optimistic about the future of the Spider-Man and Daredevil universe. Jon Bernthal is returning as The Punisher in both an upcoming Disney+ special, Punisher: One Last Kill, and the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, which suggests the films will focus on gritty, street-level action. Including Daredevil feels like a natural progression, especially since Mayor Fisk mentioned all three heroes in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, hinting at a potential team-up.
The ninja cult known as The Hand, classic enemies of Daredevil from the comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, also shows up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Considering all of this, I’m really hoping for some exciting developments! But now that Daredevil is teaching the same important lessons as Spider-Man, the connection between these two heroes feels even more significant.
Ultimately, with Matt Murdock now teaching new heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe about the importance of power and responsibility, fans are even more eager to see Daredevil and Spider-Man team up. It’s time for Marvel to make that happen!
New episodes of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 release Tuesdays on Disney+ from Marvel Studios.
