The fast-paced shoot ’em up game, Shikhondo: Blue Pieta, will be available on PC through Steam and Stove starting May 18th. CFK and DeerFarm, the publisher and developer, also plan to release it on PlayStation 5, the new Switch 2 console, and the original Switch at a later time. The game will support multiple languages, including English, Korean, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Here is an overview of the game, via CFK:
About
Shikhondo: Blue Pieta is a brand new bullet hell game in the Shikhondo series, offering a side-scrolling experience for the first time. It’s a sequel to Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage (coming to Steam in April 2024 and Nintendo Switch in May 2025), and takes place in a different city where a new grim reaper and a vampire hunter’s paths collide.
Full voice acting throughout. Ultra-wide support up to 32:9.
What’s New
This installment of the series introduces side-scrolling gameplay. The levels – including a city, an amusement park, and a subway – are detailed, modern environments that feel both familiar and unsettling. The enemies you’ll face are drawn from the folklore of another world.
Soul Collect is back and improved! Absorb enemy bullets to fill your power meter. Activate it, and every bullet on screen instantly turns into points, doubling your score. Still have a bomb? Use it to enter a second stage with a 4x score boost and more powerful attacks. Playing closer to the screen’s edge maximizes your rewards.
Counter Bomb is a new feature. If you take damage, the screen will flash, giving you eight frames to press the bomb button. Successfully pressing it in time prevents damage and either activates Soul Collect Mode or uses a bomb. This adds a strategic choice when you’re close to being defeated.
Counter Bomb requires a full Soul Gauge or at least one available bomb.
