Splatoon Raiders Launches July 23 as a Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

Nintendo has announced that Splatoon Raiders will be released on July 23, 2026, and it will only be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. This is the first official release date for the game, which was originally revealed in 2025, and it came with a brand new trailer.

Nintendo has officially announced the release date in a recent news post and on the game’s store page. The announcement was made alongside a new trailer focused on treasure hunting, and the video is titled “Splatoon Raiders — Release Date Revealed — Nintendo Switch 2.”

Nintendo revealed Splatoon Raiders on June 10, 2025, as the very first spin-off game in the Splatoon series. The announcement introduced players to the game’s setting – the Spirhalite Islands – and the new characters, Deep Cut. However, Nintendo didn’t say when the game would be released.

Okay, so we finally know when the game is coming out, what systems it’ll be on, the basic idea behind it, how much it’ll cost digitally, and roughly how big the download will be – which is awesome! But honestly, Nintendo’s still keeping a lot of the details under wraps. We’re still not totally sure how we’ll level up or what the missions will actually be like. Hopefully they’ll fill us in on that soon!

The new trailer gives the spin-off a clearer identity

Nintendo’s recent announcement highlights that the trailer showcases character customization and cool new items. The official store page describes Splatoon Raiders as an action-packed game primarily designed for single players. You’ll play as a mechanic, teaming up with Deep Cut to explore the strange Spirhalite Islands, recover lost items, and battle Salmonids.

This is important because the latest gameplay footage and descriptions are starting to show what the game actually is. Nintendo is now showcasing a fully-formed adventure with exploration and combat, rather than just teasing a new game for the Switch 2 with a cool title and world.

Store details add price, file size, and co-op support

The digital version of Splatoon Raiders is listed for $49.99 on Nintendo’s US store, and requires approximately 20 GB of storage space. It will be playable in all three Nintendo Switch modes: TV mode, Tabletop mode, and Handheld mode.

The game is primarily a single-player experience, though you won’t be completely alone. Nintendo explains that a member of the Deep Cut team will join you as a helpful bot, and you’ll also have the option to play with up to three other people online or through a local wireless connection.

Nintendo’s US store page also lists the game’s ESRB information as “Fantasy Violence.”

In the US, the game is selling for $59.99 physically. Nintendo Life reports the digital version in the UK costs £41.99, but the price for a physical copy in the UK hasn’t been announced yet.

New Deep Cut amiibo are releasing the same day

To coincide with the game’s launch, Nintendo is releasing new amiibo figures based on the ‘Splatoon Raiders’ characters. Listings on Nintendo’s website show individual amiibo for Frye, Shiver, and Big Man, all scheduled to be available on July 23, 2026. Nintendo will share more information about how these amiibo work within ‘Splatoon Raiders’ at a later date.

Listing each amiibo figure individually is currently the most straightforward approach. Since Nintendo’s online store already shows them as separate items, it’s best to follow that format instead of presenting them as a confirmed bundle.

What Nintendo still has not detailed

Nintendo has officially announced that the new game will be released on July 23, 2026, and will be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is designed primarily for single players, but will also offer optional co-op play. New Deep Cut amiibo figures will be released on the same day.

Okay, so Nintendo still hasn’t given us all the details about how you’ll actually play through Splatoon Raiders – like how missions will work and what the overall adventure will be like. But honestly, after the new trailer and everything they’ve shown, it’s clear this isn’t just some side project anymore! It’s definitely shaping up to be a big, proper first-party game for the Switch 2, and I’m getting really excited about it!
