Titus Welliver’s 2025 Dracula Sequel Adaptation Officially Releases On Hulu Next Month

Titus Welliver’s Dracula sequel is sinking its teeth into streaming.

I’ve been a fan of Titus Welliver for ages! He’s amazing in everything he does – you probably recognize him from shows like Lost (as the Man in Black), Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, The Equalizer, and especially as Harry Bosch in Bosch and Bosch: Legacy. Plus, he’s been in a bunch of Ben Affleck’s movies like Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Argo, and Live by Night. I’m so excited because his new movie, his first since wrapping up Bosch: Legacy, is finally hitting streaming soon!

I recently heard some exciting news for horror fans! Natasha Kermani’s Abraham’s Boys, based on a story by Joe Hill, is finally coming to Hulu next month. This 2025 film picks up almost twenty years after the events of Dracula, and follows a relocated Abraham Van Helsing, played by Titus Welliver, as he tries to give his sons a fresh start in California – and escape a haunting past. It’s been about ten months since it hit theaters, so I’m glad it’s becoming more accessible!

After playing in theaters on July 11th, the movie Abraham’s Boys will be available to stream on Hulu starting May 12th. It’s currently on AMC+, and has been available to rent or purchase digitally through platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Fandango since August 5th.

The cast features Titus Welliver as Van Helsing, alongside Jocelin Donahue as his wife, Mina. Brady Hepner and Judah Mackey play their sons, Max and Rudy.

As a big fan of classic horror, I found it really interesting how Abraham’s Boys sets itself up as a direct continuation of the original Dracula story. It pretty much follows everything that happens in the book, but with one cool addition: the film picks up the story knowing that Mina and Jonathan Harker survived and even had a son, Quincey, seven years after Dracula was defeated – and they named him after the heroic Quincey Morris! It’s a neat way to build on the original tale.

Critics didn’t react well to Abraham’s Boys, giving it a low 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes. They felt the film lacked energy and relied on predictable, uninspired plot twists instead of doing justice to the original story. Viewers were even less impressed, with a score of just 27%.

The horror film debuted at the Overlook Film Festival in April 2025 and had a limited release in US theaters on July 11th, earning $212,706 with a modest budget. While its theatrical run was small, Abraham’s Boys has the potential to become popular on Hulu, especially for viewers who enjoy Titus Welliver and the show Bosch.
