Everyone’s talking about which characters and bosses will be in the live-action adaptation, but let’s talk about the weapons! Elden Ring is a huge game with a rich story and an incredible variety of arms and equipment.
While there are likely other famous weapons out there, we feel strongly that these seven absolutely need to appear in the film.
1 Dark Moon Greatsword
The Moonlight Greatsword appears in many FromSoftware games, but it reached its peak in Elden Ring as the Dark Moon Greatsword, becoming both stunning and sorrowful.
Ranni the Witch gave this special weapon to someone she cared for deeply. Her story would make a great movie, and the moment the weapon is revealed needs to be a key part of it – it’s that important.
2 Moonveil
Many consider Moonveil the most well-known and powerful weapon in Elden Ring that gets stronger as your intelligence increases. It unleashes incredibly damaging waves of magical light using its Transient Moonlight ability.
Because so many fans love it and it looks amazing, this element absolutely needs to be included in the live-action version. The bright blue energy effect would be visually impressive and would create the fast-paced fight scenes viewers are hoping for.
3 Sword of Night and Flame
This straight sword, hidden in Caria Manor, is famous among players. It gained a reputation for being incredibly powerful when the game first came out.
As a fan, I can already picture how amazing this sword would look on screen! The idea of a blade that combines fiery attacks with dark, magical energy is just incredible. Imagine the fight scenes – the contrast between the bright flames and the shadowy magic would be so visually stunning, especially for anyone seeing it for the first time. It would be a real spectacle!
4 Bloodhound’s Fang
Many players have a strong, fond memory of this weapon. The Bloodhound’s Fang helped countless people progress from the very beginning of the game in Limgrave to ultimately becoming Elden Lord.
The weapon’s aggressive, curved shape and the fighting style it allows make for incredibly exciting action. Picture a hero or experienced fighter using it on screen – it would definitely bring back fond memories for many viewers and maybe even make them a little emotional.
5 Rivers of Blood
The Rivers of Blood katana is arguably the most iconic weapon for players of Elden Ring. When the game first came out, it was both incredibly powerful and a major challenge for many players.
Watching a powerful warrior or fearsome enemy draw this sword would send shivers down everyone’s spine. Seeing the deadly ‘Corpse Piler’ skill performed live would be incredibly exciting for the audience.
6 Death’s Poker
Players never forget seeing the terrifying Death Rite Birds use this weapon. Called Death’s Poker, it’s one of the most bizarre and disturbing weapons in the game. It looks like a simple, charred stick that bursts into ghostly flames when used.
Considering director Alex Garland’s talent for creating scary and unsettling films, we think this image – a frightening, undead being scraping a glowing, ice-covered but fiery poker across the ground before a battle – would fit perfectly in a movie based on Elden Ring.
7 Grafted Blade Greatsword
Clearly inspired by George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones, this massive sword is made from the melted-down weapons of a vanquished clan. Given that Martin is a co-producer on the project, fans are not only expecting to see it, but are eagerly anticipating its appearance!
This sword, designed like the Iron Throne, would be a great tribute to George R.R. Martin for creating the rich world of the game. Plus, showing it on screen would definitely excite fans who know and love the source material.
Are the most famous weapons in Elden Ring considered Legendary Armaments?
It’s not quite accurate to say those are all the legendary weapons. While the Dark Moon Greatsword, Sword of Night and Flame, and Grafted Blade Greatsword are officially considered Legendary Armaments for a specific achievement, popular choices like Rivers of Blood, Moonveil, and Bloodhound’s Fang aren’t officially labeled as such, even though many players consider them to be legendary.
How many Legendary Armaments are in Elden Ring?
To earn a specific achievement in the original Elden Ring game, players need to collect all nine of the special, powerful weapons known as Legendary Armaments.
Are the weapons from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC expected in the movie?
Although the story details haven’t been revealed yet, the film will likely center around the main events and history of the original game, including the Shattering, the Demigods, and the Lands Between.
