Emmerdale’s Dr Todd overhears damning secret about major character in early ITVX release

As a big Emmerdale fan, I’m getting seriously worried about Jacob Sugden! Dr. Todd, played by Caroline Harker, is up to something, and it looks like she has a new plan that could cause him a lot of pain. It’s never good when she’s scheming!

For several months, Todd has been consistently mistreating Jacob at the hospital. He started by undermining Jacob’s confidence and making him doubt his ability to become a doctor, and now he’s falsely portraying Jacob as being fixated on him.

I couldn’t believe it when she casually brought up his dog groomer, Maya Stepney, pretending she didn’t even realize who she was! It was so obvious she was trying to subtly mess with him. Later, I heard he found out the truth during a conversation with Manpreet Sharma and decided he’d finally had enough – he was going to confront her about it.

Todd pretended he didn’t know what was going on, which led him to file a complaint with HR at Hotten General Hospital.

During the meeting, he didn’t realize Charity Dingle was in labor elsewhere in the building. Jacob still believes Charity was a surrogate for him and his wife, Sarah, but he doesn’t know she’s actually pregnant with Ross Barton’s baby.

Only a handful of people know this shocking secret. Charity’s husband, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), suspects the baby might not belong to Jacob and Sarah, and believes it could actually be his child.

Charity also confided in Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who made a grave error in today’s episode.

Charity experienced significant blood loss during childbirth and was immediately taken by doctors for treatment. Ross was left caring for the newborn, but quickly felt uncomfortable and asked Jacob and Sarah to take over, as they were already showering the baby with affection, treating her as their own daughter.

Ross stayed at the hospital, worried about Charity and the baby, and Charity noticed. She asked Chas to talk to him, but he dismissed the idea that he wanted to be involved in their child’s life.

Just a few feet away, Dr. Todd listened closely, clearly interested in their conversation.

Jacob and Leyla had announced they were naming their baby Leyla, honoring Todd’s late mother. However, after reviewing the medical records, Todd found something surprising: Leyla’s blood type wasn’t compatible with Jacob’s. Concerned, Charity went to the hospital to find out why.

Charity was shocked, insisting there had to be some kind of error and that Jacob and Sarah were absolutely Leyla’s parents. Todd volunteered to explain blood types to her, but only if they kept it a secret, and he was unsettled by Mack’s presence.

She then made a cruel comment, warning Charity to manage her stress levels.

Is Todd about to expose the secret to Jacob in a bid to ruin his life?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
