P.S. Hilary Swank loves that she became a mom when she did.
Just after celebrating their twins, Ohm and Aya’s, 3rd birthday, actress Hilary Duff shared how becoming a mom later in life has changed her.
Hilary, who had children at 48, shared with TopMob News that she’s glad she waited to become a mother. She explained that she’s now able to fully focus on her kids in a way that wouldn’t have been possible earlier in her life. She made these remarks at the Environmental Working Group’s Earth Day dinner on April 22nd.
Okay, so she actually said people call her ‘geriatric,’ can you believe it?! But she just brushed it off, which, honestly, is SO her. She said it all comes down to how you see yourself, and honestly, that just made me love her even more. It’s like, she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks, she just owns it! It was perfect.
Honestly, I’ve noticed such a huge change in her! She just gets parenting now, and it’s amazing to see. She’s always talking about how much EWG’s guides have helped her make the best choices for her kids, and it’s like she’s unlocked a whole new level of confidence. It’s seriously inspiring!
The Academy Award-winning actor said they always consult with the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit organization. They explained that in a world often focused on profits, the EWG provides essential guidance and serves as a moral compass for them.
Hilary shared that she’s always been careful about the products she uses, both in her diet and for personal care. Becoming a mother, however, made her even more mindful. She realized babies are especially sensitive to harmful substances, and she feels it’s her job as a parent to protect them by making the healthiest choices possible.
Hilary shared with TopMob that a key rule in their home is to avoid plastic as much as possible. They don’t drink from plastic bottles or use plastic containers, recognizing it’s impossible to eliminate it completely, but they make an effort to reduce their plastic use whenever they can.

Of course, she’s not perfect.
She shared an old photo from a beach trip on Instagram, and playfully asked, “Anyone else have babies who try to eat sand?”
