Lenny Abrahamson, the director known for ‘Normal People,’ will be adapting a new book for the screen, promising another emotionally resonant story.
David Nicholls, the author of One Day, tells the story of Michael and Marnie in You Are Here. They’re both divorced and in their middle years when a friend, Cleo, brings them together for a long-distance walk across northern England – the Coast to Coast trail.
Feeling isolated and longing for connection, they both started the 200-mile hike – and unexpectedly found themselves as the only ones remaining to finish it.
As Michael and Marnie hike through the challenging landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and North York Moors – battling ever-changing weather – they begin to develop a stronger connection with each other.

Lenny Abrahamson will be turning the 2024 novel into a BBC series, and production is scheduled to begin in July, according to Variety.
The BBC declined to comment when contacted by TopMob.

Abrahamson received a lot of positive attention for his television adaptations of popular novels, notably including both ‘Normal People’ and ‘Conversations With Friends’ by Sally Rooney, which he directed for the BBC.
The 2015 movie Room, adapted from Emma Donoghue’s novel, received five nominations for Academy Awards, including a nomination for its director, Abrahamson.

As a huge movie fan, I was thrilled when Brie Larson won the Oscar for her incredible performance as Ma in that really intense drama, ‘Room’. She totally deserved it for playing such a tortured and complex character.
Nicholls has previously adapted his own novels for the screen, including the films Starter for 10 (2006) and One Day (2011), as well as writing episodes for the 2024 Netflix series of One Day.
It has not been confirmed if he will do the same for You Are Here.
