Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor Are the Cutest Couple on Red Carpet

There’s something about Christine.

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor had a rare night out together at the 2026 TIME100 Gala. The couple, who have two children – Ella, 24, and Quinlin, 20 – showed their affection for each other on the red carpet at the event in New York City on April 23.

I was absolutely captivated by Christine’s look last night! At 54, she looked incredible in a stunning, strapless blue gown. She accessorized perfectly with a gorgeous sparkling blue necklace and matching earrings, and I loved that she wore her hair down – it was so elegant. And Ben looked so handsome and sharp in his navy blue suit. They both looked amazing!

The couple recently enjoyed another glamorous night out in the city, continuing a trend of romantic dates since they got back together. They initially reconnected while quarantining with their family, and Ben, 60, shared that they were able to work through their issues because they both wanted to find a way forward after being apart for three years.

He told TopMob News in October that the key to a successful relationship is simply wanting to be with someone and being committed to making it last. “I think that’s the biggest thing,” he said.

Oh my gosh, he gets it! He totally gets it! Basically, what he said is that it all comes down to really wanting to make things work, you know? It’s about putting in the effort and cherishing the connection. And he’s so grateful they both realized what they had and were willing to fight for it! It just makes me believe in love even more when he talks like that!

As he mentioned before, their decision to separate after 17 years of marriage actually made them appreciate their relationship even more.

Ben told The New York Times in January 2025 that their separation was a chance to figure things out. They needed time to understand what their relationship truly meant, what his life felt like outside of it, and how much he valued their family. Although they were apart for three or four years, they remained connected.

Plus, a separation wasn’t something that he was even really ready for.

He said he always wanted to be with her. He wasn’t sure what Christine was thinking, but the pandemic forced them all to live together in the same house.

After a year of living together again with their kids, the couple decided to give it another go.

Coming back home is amazing,” Ben said excitedly. “You really appreciate everything you have when you realize it could easily be taken away.

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor have been married since 2000 and separated in 2017, but they never officially divorced. After spending time together with their children, Ella and Quinlin, during the pandemic, they decided to get back together.

Ella frequently joins her father, Ben, at industry events. Most recently, she accompanied him to the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2023 for the premiere of a short film starring her mother, Christine. The family coordinated their looks with different black outfits for the occasion.

Ella has been Ben’s date to several premieres and events over the years, including the 2022 Emmys, the premieres of Free Solo in 2018 and The Meyerowitz Stories in 2017, and the opening night of the Broadway show Groundhog Day.

In 2019, they attended the Golden Globes together to support Escape to Dannemora, a miniseries for which Ben was nominated for Outstanding Directing.

Ben recently shared how much he enjoyed working with his daughter, Ella, on the set of Escape to Dannemora. He told TopMob he was “very proud” of her. The Zoolander actor said he was pleased the experience went smoothly, and that Ella treated him with a lot of respect. He joked about hoping they could maintain a polite dynamic on set, unlike their usual relationship at home, but ultimately described it as a very positive experience for both of them.

Besides a small part in Escape to Dannemora, Ella has also appeared in Hubie Halloween and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Her father, Ben, mentioned in 2019 that Ella seemed eager to pursue acting. Christine also shared that she always supported Ella’s interest in following her parents’ path, saying, “She came out of the womb with a mission, and I was never going to get in her way.” Christine explained that Ella is a determined and passionate young woman who has been inspired by the many opportunities available in New York City. While she didn’t actively push her daughter towards acting, she understood Ella had a natural talent and drive for it.

Ben recently shared that his daughter, Ella, had talked to him about feeling like he wasn’t around enough when she was growing up, due to his work commitments. He told Esquire that it was difficult to hear, as she expressed her feelings very clearly. It was particularly tough because he’d always vowed not to repeat the pattern of his own parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, who were often absent during his childhood.

While it wasn’t easy to hear, Ben acknowledged that Ella’s feelings were important. He was also trying to balance fulfilling his own ambitions with being a good father.

Ben emphasized that Ella and her brother, Quinlin, weren’t tracking his absences; they simply missed having quality time with him. He realized that children aren’t concerned with their parents’ careers. What they truly want is a parent who is emotionally available and supportive – perhaps even more than they want their parent to pursue creative endeavors.

Ben Affleck shared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that his daughter Ella turned him into a big Taylor Swift fan. He explained that playing Taylor Swift while teaching Ella to drive helped calm them both. He admitted he was a fan before, but now considers himself a ‘total Swiftie.’ He’s become particularly engrossed in her later albums like Folklore and Evermore, even detailing the complex story behind songs like ‘Cardigan,’ ‘Betty,’ and ‘August’ – which are connected and inspired by the children of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. He even referenced the 10-minute version of ‘All Too Well’ from her re-recorded albums.

After filming Tropic Thunder with Ben in 2007, Christine decided to step away from acting to concentrate on raising their children. She explained in a 2010 interview with The Morning Call that becoming a mother to Ella completely changed her perspective. She felt an overwhelming amount of love and wanted to be fully present for her child, especially since Ben worked so much. She felt it was important for one parent to provide stability for the family. Ben later told Parade magazine in 2016 that he was very grateful for Christine’s decision.

Over ten years ago, Ben and Christine decided to eat a plant-based diet and encourage their children to do the same. Christine shared with People magazine back in 2012 that their kids initially found their healthy green smoothies strange. She playfully urged them to try it, saying, “Just join the party!”

Christine also noted that her daughter, Ella, prefers vegetables over fruit, while her son, Quinlin, is the opposite – he loves fruit but avoids vegetables.

Despite these differing tastes, Christine remains optimistic. She believes that, like many kids, her children will eventually appreciate their parents’ healthy habits, explaining, “We just kind of plant the seeds,” hoping they’ll come around.

Ella frequently joins her parents at events, but Quinlin is usually more private. He did appear at the Project A.L.S. Benefit in 2018 with his family. According to Christine, who spoke with Us Weekly, this was Quinlin’s first event and he was enjoying himself. She explained that their daughter attended the previous year and encouraged him to come, and it was wonderful to share the event with their extended family – people they’ve known for about 20 years and watched their children grow up with.

Quinlin also joined the celebration for Project ALS’s 25th anniversary in 2023. Ben and Christine have made sure to share the causes they care about with their children. Christine, who serves on the organization’s board, told Us Weekly in 2018 that it meant a lot to her that their kids would come out on a school night to have fun, get dressed up, and learn about such a worthwhile organization.
