Nikki Glaser is pasta-tive she regrets this admission.
The comedian, recently recognized by TIME as one of the most influential people of 2026, said she regrets mentioning that Leonardo DiCaprio sent her pasta. She revealed this after jokingly referencing his old Teen Beat profile during her speech at the 2026 Golden Globes.
Nikki admitted she felt a little awkward about how much attention the story received. She told TopMob News at the TIME100 Gala in New York City on April 23rd that she worried people would think she was just showing off.
She was actually just hoping to have a good story to tell when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on April 21st.
“I was just trying to come up with a funny story for Fallon,” she laughed. “I only have a few.”
Nikki recently told an audience on The Tonight Show that she always sends flowers to anyone she jokes about during an awards ceremony, as a thank you for taking it in good humor.
This time, Leonardo was the only person to send her something back.
I was telling Jimmy Fallon about this bit I was working on about Leonardo DiCaprio, and honestly, I was really stuck. I just didn’t want to fall into the tired old joke about his age gap with his girlfriends. It feels so overdone, you know? It’s actually been a running joke for longer than some of his girlfriends have even been alive, which is kind of wild to think about!
Nikki decided to tease the 51-year-old in a new way. He’s been dating model Vittoria Ceretti, 27, since 2023.
Nikki remembered discovering an old Teen Beat article from 1991 while working with her team. She joked, ‘We realized we knew very little about Leonardo DiCaprio. The only information we had was from that Teen Beat piece, where he said his favorite food was simply pasta – lots and lots of pasta!’
Nikki explained that Leo sent her three baskets of pasta as a thank you gift. She found it amusing and appreciated the gesture, but it also made her wonder if he was interested in something more. She thought, ‘He wouldn’t send pasta to the type of girl he usually dates,’ and she noted it was just dry pasta, not a prepared meal.
During his interview with Teen Beat, Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t just talk about his love of pasta. He also shared his enthusiasm for the novel Lord of the Flies, sports like basketball and baseball, and music by Pink Floyd and MC Hammer – even mentioning his favorite MC Hammer song, “U Can’t Touch This.”
When Nikki revealed herself at the Golden Globes, Leonardo DiCaprio seemed thrilled. He laughed and gave her a thumbs-up from his seat in the audience.
