Cher’s Son Elijah’s Ex Pleads for Financial Support After Hospitalization

In simpler terms, Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman’s former spouse, Marieangela King, disclosed her critical financial predicament as she appeals for aid during their divorce proceedings, according to an exclusive report by Us Weekly.

37-year-old artist King submitted a statement detailing her current financial situation on June 20th. This document showed that she is presently without employment, with her last known work being in 2009.

King stated that she wasn’t aware of Allman’s present earnings and would require a professional forensic accountant to ascertain the income for child support purposes.

She reported her regular earnings each month as nothing, with both figures being identical. She disclosed having a total of $3,651 in cash and savings. She mentioned not owning any stocks, bonds, or liquidatable assets.

In my case, the court will decide the value of my shared property only after they’ve made their ruling on our community assets.

According to her declaration, King stated that her regular expenditures consist of $5,000 for rent, $500 for healthcare, $1,500 for groceries, $500 for dining out, $600 for utilities, $100 for laundry, $200 for new clothes, $300 for car-related costs, and a substantial $3,000 on entertainment.

The grand total of her monthly bills comes to $12,000.

She mentioned that during their marriage, they experienced a luxurious lifestyle marked by vacations to Europe‘s elite hotels, residing in Beverly Hills and a residence in Malibu, having access to private swimming pools, fitness centers, personal chefs, therapists, and frequenting restaurants like Nobu and Chateau Marmont. She added, “I’ve traveled on private jets, enjoyed first and business class flights, and stayed at the villa in Las Vegas.

She expressed that the entertainment industry is tough, and she’s found it challenging to advance her career while prioritizing her husband’s needs and his family, all under intense public scrutiny, with little to no direct assistance provided.

King stated, “I require assistance to meet my living expenses like paying rent and essentials, as well as funds for additional education and job training so I can eventually become self-reliant.” She mentioned that she temporarily paused her professional growth since 2009 to fulfill household responsibilities and aid Allman’s career advancement.

She mentioned that Allman, aged 48, had multiple financial streams to rely on. These included a steady flow of funds from his father’s estate, regular income from the family business, royalties, earnings from his personal music career, support from his mother, Cher, and numerous other sources.

[Allman] held sole control over cash withdrawals and distributions throughout the marriage. So far, I haven’t been provided with any records, explanations, or transparency about these finances,” she clarified.

Allman has yet to respond.

On the 8th of April, King chose to file for divorce following an unsuccessful effort at reconciliation. They tied the knot in December 2013, but unfortunately, they parted ways on the 31st of March. Notably, there are no children involved in this union.

In her divorce paperwork, King cited “insurmountable disagreements” as the cause for their marriage dissolution. She petitioned the court to make Allman pay her $6,000 per month in temporary alimony and prevent him from receiving any kind of support from her.

Additionally, King suggested that the spousal support should go back to the date she initially filed the petition. She argued that her former partner had the capacity to cover the amount of support being asked for.

Furthermore, she requested that the Los Angeles Superior Court judge grant her sole access to their matrimonial residence and a 2017 Toyota Prius car.

King mentioned that if Allman decided to keep the vehicle, she’d require an initial sum of $2,000 as a down payment, followed by $500 each month, in addition to the required $6,000, to cover the car lease payments.

She also asked for $10,000 to help cover her legal fees.

2024 saw the finalization of their divorce, as Allman withdrew an earlier petition filed against King in early 2021. The legal proceedings had stretched over several years due to delays.

As a devoted follower, I shared in King’s reflections about the division that occurred in April. She expressed, “For 13 years, we journeyed together beautifully, creating memories I’ll forever treasure. Although we’re parting ways, I am confident we’ll continue to be friends. Elijah will always hold a unique and dear place in my heart.

Earlier on, we shared that Cher, now 79 years old, had sought to establish a conservatorship for her son last year. Her concern was that he might be misusing the inheritance he received from his late father and musician, Gregg Allman, on drug use.

According to Cher’s lawyer, there are regular distributions from a trust set up for Elijah by his father. However, given his struggles with mental health and substance abuse, Cher worries that any money distributed to Elijah might be used on drugs straight away, leaving him without resources for his own well-being, and potentially endangering his life.

In the courtroom setting, Allman asserted that he didn’t require a conservator. He expressed his capability to handle his own financial matters and mentioned that he had maintained sobriety for an extended period. Ultimately, the case did not lead to Allman being subjected to a conservatorship; it was instead closed without such an arrangement.

This month, it appears that Allman experienced an overdose in Joshua Tree, California, and was urgently taken to a hospital. According to TMZ, he has recently been discharged from the hospital. The source claims that Cher is worried for her son’s health and well-being.
