HoYoverse recently announced a new update that will add another large region to the game’s already expansive map.
Okay, so the latest Genshin Impact livestream finally gave us the release date for Snezhnaya! I’m so hyped – we’ll be able to explore the Cryo nation on August 12th, 2026. As you know, we’ve already got seven regions in Teyvat, each based on a different element, and Snezhnaya is going to be the eighth and final major nation to add to the game. Here’s everything they revealed about it!
Genshin Impact Confirms Release Date for Long-Awaited 8th Region of Teyvat
Many Genshin Impact fans have been eagerly waiting for the addition of Teyvat’s 8th region after six years. Snezhnaya, the new Cryo region, is a vast, snow-covered land where trains are the main way to get around. Players will be able to travel across Snezhnaya by train and experience the next chapter in the Genshin Impact story.
The release of Snezhnaya is a huge moment, bringing together storylines that have been developing since the start of the game. When Snezhnaya becomes playable on August 12th, players will finally learn the fate of the six Gnoses. This moment is the result of a rich history and detailed backstory. The new region expands the game’s story and adds another area to explore in an already large world. We’ll finish the story for the previous region, Nod-Krai, in the coming updates, preparing players for what’s next in Teyvat’s ongoing narrative.
With the major update introducing the Snezhnaya region, players can expect plenty of new content. This includes fresh ways to battle and interact with the world, as well as some exciting gameplay features that haven’t been announced yet. On top of that, Genshin Impact will receive visual enhancements and improvements to make gameplay and cutscenes even better.
