Space and Time has launched Dreamspace, an AI-powered, no-code app builder designed to democratize blockchain development.
Key Takeaways:
- Space and Time launched Dreamspace with Microsoft to enable no-code AI app building for 140,000+ students. Because nothing says “educational innovation” like teaching kids to build apps on a blockchain they don’t understand.
- Built on Base, the tool offers sub-1-second speeds and fees under $0.01 to empower the creator economy. Because who needs to wait longer than a heartbeat for their app to deploy?
- Following a $20M investment in 2022, the 2026 public launch scales verifiable data for all onchain builders. Because nothing says “future-proof” like a $20 million bet on a technology that might be obsolete by next year.
Simplifying Blockchain Development
Space and Time, the data warehouse powerhouse known for securing onchain finance, recently announced the public launch of Dreamspace, an artificial intelligence (AI) app builder that allows users to generate and deploy fully functional applications without writing a single line of code. Built in collaboration with Microsoft Azure AI Foundry and Base, Dreamspace aims to pivot sophisticated financial-grade infrastructure into the hands of the broader creator economy. Which, of course, is just a fancy way of saying “we’ve made blockchain so easy, even your grandma can use it-if she owns a cryptocurrency wallet.”
The AI app builder operates on a simple premise: Users provide a text description of their desired application, and the platform’s AI engine handles the rest. This includes automatically generated smart contract logic ready for deployment. By making every contract transparent, the app allows creators to verify exactly how their app behaves on-chain. These apps inherit the same secure data layer used by major financial institutions. Which, of course, is just a fancy way of saying “we’ve got the same security as a bank, but with more emojis.”
“Space and Time was built to make verifiable data accessible to any application, at any scale,” said Nate Holiday, co-founder of Space and Time. “Dreamspace is where that infrastructure meets the people building the next wave of the internet.” Which, if you ask me, is just a polite way of saying “we’re giving everyone the tools to build the next big thing-assuming they know what a blockchain is.”
The platform’s technical pedigree is a result of deep industry partnerships. Dreamspace utilizes Azure OpenAI and was developed with the support of M12, Microsoft’s venture fund, which led a $20 million investment in Space and Time in 2022. Because nothing says “invest in the future” like funding a project that might be the next big thing-or just another crypto fad.
To ensure the apps are commercially viable, Dreamspace runs on Base, Coinbase’s high-speed L2 network. This integration allows for sub-cent transaction fees, sub-second transaction speeds and full Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility. Because nothing says “commercial viability” like a network that’s fast, cheap, and compatible with the most popular blockchain.
“This exciting new project makes starting an onchain business as simple as having an idea worth building,” added Eric Brown, head of AI developer relations at Base. Which, of course, is just a fancy way of saying “you don’t even need an idea-just a vague notion and a credit card.”
While April 23 marked the official public launch, Dreamspace has already seen massive engagement during its beta phase, with more than 34,000 apps created. The platform is also making waves in education. In Indonesia, several schools have already integrated Dreamspace into their curricula, establishing AI labs with the goal of reaching more than 140,000 students. Which is impressive, unless you consider that the students might be more confused than enlightened.
Michael Stewart, managing partner at M12, noted that this versatility is exactly what Microsoft looked for in its initial investment. “Dreamspace puts that foundation to work for a completely different kind of builder,” he said, signaling a shift where complex blockchain infrastructure becomes an invisible, effortless tool for the global workforce. Which, in other words, “we’ve made blockchain so easy, even your grandma can use it-assuming she knows what a blockchain is.”
