DC Studios is gearing up for the release of Supergirl, and excitement is growing as the June release date approaches. While we’ve seen glimpses of the movie, full scenes have been scarce. That changed at the CCXP event, where a 15-minute preview and a new trailer were unveiled. Here’s a rundown of everything that was shown.
At the Supergirl panel, actress Milly Alcock and director Craig Gillespie presented a new trailer and a 15-minute clip from the upcoming film. While the footage hasn’t been released online, @eltalsaid (via @DCdaily) shared details. One scene shows Supergirl calmly witnessing a bus robbery alongside Ruthye, which escalates into a fight before Supergirl flies towards the sun to regain her strength. Another scene focused on Jason Momoa’s character, Lobo, revealing how he becomes part of the story.
The Supergirl CCXP Panel Paired New Footage With Unexpected Cameos and Limited Edition Items

So, I was reading an interview with director James Gunn over at Omelete (DC Film News picked it up), and he talked about the footage they showed at the panel. Apparently, it’s a scene pretty early in the movie where Milly Alcock’s character, Kara, finally gets to use her powers for the first time. He said it’s a really exciting moment because the audience has been waiting for it! Plus, Kara’s going through some stuff emotionally – she’s pretty angry – which makes the scene even more fun to watch.

The Supergirl panel at CCXP kicked off with a video message from James Gunn. Gunn was at the event to share a new look at Superman before its release, and although he couldn’t attend the Supergirl panel in person, he wanted to connect with the fans. David Corenswet also made a brief appearance, but it was actually a clip from the latest Superman trailer featuring his message to Supergirl.
Alcock and Gillespie came on stage to discuss the film and then showed off some new clips and the trailer. Everyone who attended the panel also received a special limited-edition Supergirl poster with artwork by Bilquis Evely, the artist behind Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It’s a beautiful poster, and you can see it in the post above.
A trailer was also revealed, though it’s unclear if it contained any footage we haven’t seen before. The clips shown at the panel probably won’t be available online, but we’re hoping a new trailer before the June release will include some of it.
Supergirl releases in theaters on June 26, 2026.
