The popular manga series Fire Force, created by Atsushi Ookubo, was adapted into an anime in 2019 and quickly gained fans worldwide. It’s known for its imaginative setting in a world after a great disaster, exciting action sequences, and a particularly well-received ending – a rarity in the Shonen genre. The manga finished in 2022, leaving anime fans hoping for a third season. After more than four years since the second season ended, Fire Force is returning in Spring 2025, and this season will complete the story in two parts.
The anime recently finished its 32026th season after airing for seven years. The final episode hinted at a continuation of the story through a new series called Soul Eater, which follows the events of Fire Force. The original Soul Eater manga ran for ten years, starting in 2003, and was later followed by a prequel. Although Soul Eater previously received an anime adaptation, many fans found it deviated from the source material and didn’t cover the entire story, leading to hopes for a reboot. While a return hasn’t been officially confirmed, the exciting conclusion of Fire Force suggests a comeback is planned, with an exhibition scheduled for this year.
Fire Force Is Holding an Exhibition in 2026

The art exhibition will open in Tokyo and Osaka this year, and was officially announced on April 24th, 2026. The announcement included details about the dates and locations, as well as a fresh look at the popular characters. Fans were especially excited to learn about a live drawing event featuring Ohkubo. However, this exhibition and the live event will only be accessible to people in Japan.
An official account hinted at an upcoming exhibition by sharing a panel from the Fire Force manga on X (formerly Twitter). This quickly gained attention and led fans to speculate about a possible new Soul Eater anime. While the account later changed its name to Fire Force Exhibition, causing some initial disappointment, the project remains interesting.
Fire Force Has One of The Best Endings in Shonen

Fire Force is a story that consistently improves, remaining captivating right up to the very end. Throughout the series, various mysteries come together, ultimately explaining the strange world and the characters’ fight for a brighter future. The final arc centers on a battle against duplicates, as Shinra confronts a powerful, otherworldly being and discovers a hidden ability within himself.
The story wraps up neatly with a two-chapter epilogue, avoiding unnecessary length and resolving all plot points. The world has moved past the strange phenomenon of people bursting into flames and has become peaceful, though still wonderfully odd.
The story concludes with Shinra achieving his lifelong goal of being a hero, and a lasting peace settles over the world. This ending establishes the setting for the Soul Eater manga, where new challenges await. If you’re interested in watching Fire Force, all episodes are available on Crunchyroll – be sure to watch them before the next season arrives!
